I step into my bedroom after having just showered, running the towel through my hair as I check the time; about ten minutes til Theo arrives. Walking over to my mirror, I glance over my eye liner and face. My dark wet hair flowing down my back and shoulders, with my long grey t-shirt and black high rise leggings. I don't look too bad.
Stepping away I let out a sigh and look over myself once more. I walk over to my night stand and pull out a pre-rolled cannabis cigar, and an extra lighter. I make my way over to my balcony double doors and open them up, allowing the cool air to seep through. Thankfully there is at least ten feet of awning covering the balcony, allowing total freedom and space even if it rains.
I take a step out and place the cigar between my lips, lighting it up and breathing it in. The sweet smoke sails down my throat and into my lungs, resting as I look out onto the light rain and trees in the distance. The sun is begining to set, sitting just above the tree line as a light mist can be seen lining the trees. I exhale, watching the smoke rise and float away as I take in a deep breath afterwards.
Just as I am putting the blunt to my lips a second time, I see Theo's black chevy impala coming down the driveway slowly, hitting almost every puddle before it parks beside my car. He turns off his engine as I exhale, the air nipping lightly at my skin as I stand near the railing. He gets out of his car and closes the door, his glance up towards me as he takes a few steps.
"Wanna join?" I ask him, my voice just a little over normal to make sure he could hear me.
"Why not." Theo says before making his way up the steps and onto the porch, out of sight as he reaches the top of the steps. I wait as he comes inside and up to my room, taking a puff before he appears at my door way. "Smells nice." He says as he approaches the balcony.
"Thanks." I chuckle softly as I hand him the cigar, letting him take a hit. I watch as Theo brings the blunt to his lips and inhale, taking another quick puff before passing it back to me. I take it from him and take a puff, the smoke filling my lungs once more as we stand in silence. We pass it around until it is a few inches, putting it out in my ash tray on the small table by the door. I walk over to the mirror and look at myself one more time.
"All ready?" Theo ask as I see his blue hues look me over.
"Yep. Oh, I kinda invited someone to join us, if that's alright." I remember my events with Chloe earlier and wanted to tell him before I forgot again, grabbing my phone and keys.
"Oh like who?" He asks.
"A girl name Chloe on the west side." I say as we begin to leave my room and head down stairs, going to the front door to slide on my shoes. "I got pizza earlier and she was my waitress." I try to fill him in as we walk out the door, locking it behind us.
"And you didn't invite us?" Theo says with a light smirk as he walks down the steps and to his car, I following a few feet behind. "We're taking my car." He turns to me as he gets to his driver door and opens it, the soft rain hitting our skin and fabric. "Or did you forget that too?" He lets out a chuckle before sliding in his car, I getting in a few seconds later.
"Haha, funny Theodore." I say his full name and smile to myself as I bring the seat belt around my chest and click it in.
"Aleksandra," He begins, my blue eyes look to him quickly before my smile returns, his smirk still on his lips. I roll my eyes as he cranks up the engine and starts to drive down the drive way. "Oh you love it."
I did in fact love it. Only my mother and grandmother would call me by my full name but, it did sound right on his lips. Bringing me back to when we were teens and the brothers would call me that to annoy me, or get my attention if I was zoned out or whatnot. Theo pulls onto the main road and the windshield wipers flick away any rain that hit the glass. The rain has been constant but light these past few days, making me question if I came at the right time or not. I let it pass my mind as Theo says something.
