Theo and I spend the rest of the day out and about, taking me to old places we used to go around the island when we were in our teens. Some places only we knew, other places we went with his brothers and still had the most absolute fun. The sun begins to set when Theo looks over to me then back at the road ahead.
"One more spot. Then we can go." He says with a half smile on his lips.
"Okay." I smile softly as he takes a right off the paved road onto gravel, the scenery familiar as he drives down the small road. Trees hug the sides as an opening comes into view, an an old up kept cabin can be see. The BlackBirds cabin. "Theo." My voice is low as he pulls into a spot and we hop out, my eyes scanning over the one story rather large wooden cabin.
"Come on." Theo says as he takes my hand, leading me up the stairs and onto the porch. He unlocks the door with his free hand and pushes the door open, allowing the small bit of sunlight to illuminate the opening. He flips on the light and pulls me inside, the decor the same as the last time I was here.
"Last time we were here I thought we were going to die, I'm not going to lie." A chuckle passes my lips as I remember that stormy night.
"So did I." Theo smirks as he looks down to me. "But I wouldn't have complained."
"Don't say that."
"Why? I found you all those times before, I could do it again."
"Let's enjoy this life while we have it, okay?"
"We will." He tells me as he combs a strand of lose hair behind my ear.
My eyes close and I am transported back to here, years before. Alone with Theo as he burst through the door, pulling me in from the pouring rain. Our clothes are drench as we escape the hell raising storm outside. He closes the door behind us as the wind blows against it, a thud being heard as it locks.
"Fuck." I let out a moan as I look over myself, soaked head to toe from the rain. My shoes even squeak on the hard wood flooring as I try to slide them off my feet.
"You good?" Theo asks.
"Yeah, god we are so fuckin stupid." I shake my head as I peel off my jacket from my wet body.
"We're alive though. So that counts." He says as he takes off his shoes. "You know it was fun though Leksa." I watch as he begins to remove his shirt, throwing it over his head. His chest and stomach are tight as rain droplets roll down his skin.
"I guess." I look away to the floor as Theo walks over to the fireplace and kneels down, starting a fire inside the brick.
"Let's get you dry." He says as he stands and walks over to me by the door, taking my hand in his as he leads to the fire warm he made. I stop a few feet from it as it feel the warmth radiating towards my wet skin and clothes. "You gonna undress or?"
"I am." I snap back, almost too quickly as Theo raises his hand in defense.
"Sorry." He says as he looks me over. "I just don't want you to get sick."
"I know, I-" I let out a small sigh, frustrated at myself. Knowing he's seen me this way before from the many times we've been swimming, but it was never just him and I, and I suppose that is why. Or I'm just self conscious of myself around him when we're alone. "I'm sorry." I say before I reach down and peel off my soaked shirt from my skin, the air nipping at my wet skin.
"I'll take that." Theo takes my shirt from my hand and lays it on the metal fencing just outside the fireplace. "Next." He sticks out his hand towards me and my breath catches in my throat as he looks at me, then my pants.
