Golden light flickers through my eyes as I view the sunset through the window. My body shivers when the breeze flows through my hair, the soft feeling of the fabric of the dress brushing my ankles. I take a deep breath in feeling the cool air enter my lungs from the open window.

"Y/n!" Evie calls as I snap back into reality, she was sitting next to me in study hall. I look at her my eyes still glazed over from the day dream she had ripped me from.

"Sorry, what were you saying?" I asked quietly. When I was brought to Auradon by Mal's mother I did not think I was going to get to stay long, but Ben, who is now King, let me stay and go to school. I think about my brother all the time but the feeling of finally being free from the awful life I was living has made me feel worse about leaving him.

"I was saying, aren't you an Ben going to the lake later today to talk about plans?" She smiled at me as I realized, looking at the clock on the wall.

"I'm so late," I got all my things together and ran out the door. I ran out to the pavilion where Ben and I where meant to meet.

"Y/n!" a reporter called out to me the second I arrived at the pavilion.

"Only three days to the Royal Cotillion. Ever think a girl like you would be a Lady of the Court?" another reporter called to me. I turned my head to see who had spoken.

"How does it feel to be the most envied girl in Auradon?"

"Okay, all right. Excuse me," Ben rests his arm over my shoulder with an apple in his other hand.

"When will you ask her to marry you?" Ben laughs.

"Were done here," Ben takes a bite out of the apple before turning to me.

"Okay, shush, shush, shoosh, shoosh. This is still a school, so if you're here, you're either skipping or trespassing," Fair Godmother says walking to me and Ben.

"Thank you," I smile lightly as the reporters walk away.

"Don't pay attention to them," Ben says.

"Well, that's a lot easier said then done, right?" I smile holding my backpack straps. The golden gown design that was on the bag was the dress his mother wore when she first danced with the past king.

"Alright, you ready?" Ben asks taking my hand.

   "Always."

"How has Auradon been treating you?" I walk slightly behind him, my hand still in his warm, soft one.

"It's fine, some people aren't as nice as I would have expected," I am referring to Audrey, she basically tries to make my life worse then it was on the isle. "But I do enjoy all of my classes, school was always something I was good at."

Ben smiles at me, "Maybe you should tutor me," I laugh.

"We both know you get better grades then I do."

We arrive at our destination and I see the beautiful picnic he has setup for us. There where strawberries, little sandwiches, chocolate, and lemonade. I smiled, foods I had found I loved to eat over the pass few months.

   "This is amazing, thank you."

"M'lady," Ben gestures to the side of the blanket. I sit down and he follows suit. We sit eating and chatting for hours. He smiles at me as I reach for the last strawberry. "You know you need to see Evie about the dress, she says she doesn't see you outside of classes."

I glance at the strawberry in my hand, "I know I'm just nervous about this Cotillion, I don't really understand the Lady of the Court role I'm meant to be in."

"You'll be fine, I'll be right by your side," he smiles grabbing my hand that held the strawberry. I smile at him, then frown the second I realize he stole my strawberry.

   "Ben!"

"I have something for you," he smiles handing me a book, it was yellow, blue, and red. The cover was leather and had a small rose on the top. The corners had golden metal to protect them from damage. The pages, a soft tea brown with black lines for writing. "To write letters to me, since we don't have to send them to each other anymore I thought we could write them in note books and give them to each other when we're ready."

I smiled, "I love it." I kissed his cheek looking back at the notebook.

Dear Ben,

These last few months have been amazing! Thank you for letting me be in Auradon.

The time I have spent with you has been magical and I don't know how this could be any better. My life has been so amazing with you. You have become my best friend, after this Cotillion when life slows down again, maybe we could be more then friends.

Your mother took me to the dress shop the other day, she is the best. I love her, having never met my mother has made this such an experience. I wish she was my mother. Your father taught me how to play crochet the other day as well. Maybe I can finally beat you.

Thank you Ben for this Diary, it is a good way to get all my thoughts down in one place.

Lots of Love,

Y/n Gaston
