Despite the fact I said I probably wouldn't update in a while, I'm back with art. I drew over vacation and I finally finished Nova.

I nearly gave up on finishing her after failing multiple times to create a galaxy effect. I'm still not completely happy, but I really need to just be done with this drawing. I did figure out what using overlay and stuff actually does which sped up the shading process. I do have a question for those who use Autodesk Sketchbook. How do you make a clipping mask and how do you make it so the thickness of your pen changes with the pressure?
Now I have three drawings for Easter week.

I struggled with making a young child. The proportions are so different from what I usually draw. I do think she turned out pretty good though. I haven't used alcohol markers in a long time. I think the last time I used them was in December... Oops. That's what happens when you're trying to juggle three medias.

The markers were not cooperating in this one. The shading on the skin is so bad and for some reason when I layered it, it made this weird splotchy texture. Probably should have got actual marker paper...

The color scheme was way different in this one with all the warm colors, but I think that represented the vibe I was going for better. Also for some reason two of my chisel tip markers just died on me??? Like I haven't used either of them in huge areas ever and now they are dry!?? Maybe I have and I don't remember, but it's still annoying. That's also why I have this huge awkward shadow beneath the lion. Speaking of the lion, I'm very happy with how he turned out. I've never practiced drawing lions or anything other than some few rough sketches I made before drawing this one. So with that in mind I think I did well. Also if was the girl I would be doing the same thing if I came across a friendly lion. I mean look at that mane!
