"Hurry, (y/n)," Crutchie calls down the ladder from Jack's penthouse.

You scramble up, (h/c) hair blowing in the breeze. He motions you to a spot right next to him by the railing. He's staring intently at the sky.

"What did you want to show m-" you begin.

KABOOM! The sky overhead lights up red. WHIR! Now it's green. Fireworks!

"Oh, Crutchie!" you cry, thrilled that he would think of coming up here to see the fireworks with you.

"Happy Independence Day, (y/n)," he grins. Then, tentatively, he cups your face in his hand and kisses you. You wrap your arms around him and weave a hand into his hair, knocking off his cap.

When you're done, you look back to the explosions in the sky and whisper, "Happy Independence Day, Crutchie."
