Chapter 25

Karan's POV:

Mr. Kumar again has called us for an urgent meeting. This time all the office heads are present in the conference room. What's the matter no one knows.

"Niroshini, what is it?" I asked her as we both sat beside each other.

"I don't know, it must be something important that's the reason he has called all the heads so urgently". She said in a serious tone.

After few more minutes once everyone arrived. He entered in. We all stood up and greeted him and sat after him.

"My dear staff members, it has been my pleasure working in this company past several years. But now the time has come to an end I guess".
He said giving us a small smile.

Dam...he's retiring so soon? I thought in my mind.

"I would like to thank each and every one of you for your support and love towards me. I am so happy to be a part of this company".
He said in a proud voice.

Everyone clapped to his words.
I too for moment felt bad that we will be loosing a good boss. His some actions might be disturbing but when it comes to work you can't beat him.

"There is another good news for you people that our company is being taking over by non other than Mr. Jayaram Agarwal. He will be our new owner of the company and his son Mr. Shakthi Agarwal will be your new boss".
He said smiling to which everyone are shocked yet kept a smiling face.

I stood up from my chair in horror. Everyone looked at me wiredly. I gave my boos the horrible look of my face, what the hell? didn't he get anyone in this whole world to sell his company too.

Niroshini pulled me back down to sit. I gave her a blank look.

"Sit down, control your emotions!" She whispered in my ear.

"So, as I was saying Mr. Agarwal will be taking over our entire empire and lead you all from now. So, tomorrow there is big party where we will be announcing their take over and I want each one of you to be present as you will be welcoming your new boss".
He said and concluded.

I'm still in confusion, God I wish it's a dream. Everyone got up and started greeting him and leaving the room. I sat in my place silently. Niroshini came and tapped me on my shoulder.

"Karan, come on!".
She said and went crossed me.

I got up feeling defeated like something I lost terribly. I'm not letting Meera stay in this company definitely after coming to know this news.

I came to my cabin and sat holding my head. What to do now? Shakthi will surely do everything possible by him to take me out from here, or he will make my life a living hell. I can't stay here for long. The man who has killed his own brother, the man who tried to kill me, he can do anything.

As I sat rubbing my forehead
My cabin door banged open.
I looked up in anger to see who dared to barg into my room like that. But soon my anger vanished and I got worried.

I stood up from my chair, she came running and hugged me. I hugged her back tightly, I can feel her tear wetting my shirt.

"Calm down Meera, be normal!"
I said softly in her ear.

I rubbed her back, but she didn't stop to cry. God how am I to pacify her? I thought.

"Meera, calm down. It's all going to be OK. I won't let you stay here Don't worry". I said in assurance.

She broke our hug and looked at me with teary eyes. My heart ackes like hell to her face like this. I wiped her eyes with my kerchief. I then mad her sit down on the chair and waited for her to calm down.

"Karan!"
Now came in Shubam with a worried look.

I looked at him in doubt now.

"What the hell did I just hear out now!" He asked seriously.

"Stay clam!".
I told Meera and she nooded.

I held his hand and pulled him inside and locked the door.

"Bro I'm not staying in this company even for a minute".
He said looking at me.

"Do we have any other option? Our lives are at stake, we all have families to take care of? How can we just leave without a valid reason?" Meera said in pain.

"Meera, seriously are you saying this? You want a valid reason not to work with that man?" Shubam asked her scarstically in anger.

"Yes, Shubam what can we do?" She questioned him back.

"Guys, there is lot that we can do!"
I said thinking of wired ways.

"What will you do?" Both of them asked me together.

"I'll try and speak to boss".
I said walking to my chair.

"What will you tell him?"
Again both asked me together.

Meera gestured Shubam to sit on the chair next to her. He huffed and sat down. I too sat in my place.

As I was about to open my mouth to speak...

There was knock on the door. Meera got up and opened it. Entered inside, Manvi. She too has a worried look on her face. Meera closed the door back once Manvi came in.

"Guys, you need to know something very important".
She said sitting where Meera sat so long.

Meera came and stood beside me, and I held her hand and intertwined our fingers.

"What's it? Why you look more worried than us?".
Shubam asked her.

"Boss is giving this company to save his granddaughter. The Agarwal's are not buying it from him, he is giving it to them. Shakthi has blackmailed him, I don't know the excat reason but he's not selling it by his own will".
Manvi said in a soft but serious voice.

"Fucking bassted! I feel like killing him and feeding him to the dogs". Shubam said banging the table loudly and stood up in anger.

"Clam down Shubam, atlest now we got some information. We will try and fine out the main reason".
I said thinking of a plan in mind.

"How did you come to know about all this?".
Meera asked Manvi a good question.

"I overhead him speak with his PA asking to check if everything is fine at home and is his granddaughter safe or not. He also told him to call Shakthi and inform him about tomorrow's party. His voice and behavior was not normal. So I just assumed all of this".
Manvi said calmly tapping the table with her fingers.

"You just assumed, your not sure?" Shubam asked her wiredly.

"Yeah but, I'm sure there is something fishy to all this".
She said confidently now.

"How old is his granddaughter?"
Meera asked her again and stiffened a little.

"Around 8 or 9 maybe I'm not sure!" Manvi said doubtfully.

I looked up at Meera, her mind is thinking something. I have learnt to read her face by now. She looks more tensed then before. I gave her hand a lite squeeze. She looked at me with a blank face and but didn't say anything.
