While Kawakaze is at the bed in the hut, Villamor explained to Kawakaze that someone inside the Japanese Empire originally tries to kill Nagato to gain more power, but instead, that mysterious person killed Mutsu, to frame Kawakaze and to make Nagato a puppet for that Mysterious person
Although the Person is still being identified, Kawakaze swore to prove her innocence after she recover from her injuries and to kill that person that framed her to save Nagato and the empire from falling into destruction
As days pass Kawakaze slowly recovered with her walking around the area with guards escorting her incase she escapes, to which she can't as her samurai sword was confiscated by Villamor
As she walks at the area she notice people training by using long sticks as self defense training

and from there Kawakaze was trained by professional Arnis uses on how to use it, needless to say she managed to learn it quickly, making her a deadly opponent, as she could use it against her enemies by hitting them at the neck, whether killing them or knocking them out cold
She also used her sword at the arnis to see how durable it is and from her perspective, it will take 3-5 quick sword slashes to break the arnis since the wood used at the arnis is very durable
As this happen she was also trained on using a M1903 Springfield rifle and a M1917 Enfield rifle in case she got into a gun shooting battle, even thou Kawakaze is a shipgirl, with her ship still being repaired, she could still be venerable to bullets as she had never used her rigging within weeks, and it is still unknown when she'll use her ship rigging again due to the lack of materials for repairing it(In this story if a shipgirl hasn't used her rigging for a long time they could now be vulnerable to bullets, they could be only immune if she used her rigging again)
As months pass, Kawakaze slowly understands why the Filipino's are fighting against the Japanese, as she witnesses Filipino women getting raped by the Japanese, and they were mistreated including the POW, making Kawakaze regret on not noticing the flaws of her empire
and so she swore to the Filipino resistance to help them liberate Philippines against Japan, so she could prevent The Empire's honor to be tainted any longer
