Ophelia Murray's green eyes were full of sleep as she stood outside of her classroom, waiting for the teacher to arrive. Scatterbrained Mrs. Teague was late nearly every day, and she didn't have much respect from her students for that reason.

"Late once again," said Lana, Ophelia's loud twin sister. History, the first subject of the day, was the sisters' only class together.

"We should say something to Headmaster Callaghan," piped a small girl that Ophelia recognized as Lily Scott, the tiny redhead that always was on Lana's nerves. Lana rolled her eyes fairly discreetly.

"Everyone in, everyone in," said a loud voice from behind them. Mrs. Teague rushed them in the classroom, her mousy brown hair pulled into a very messy bun and her wire-framed glasses were falling off of her nose. The large class started filing in the classroom, mumbling rude comments about the teacher's appearance. The students sat down as Mrs. Teague collected herself at the front of the classroom.

"Right, then. I suppose we'll just jump right in. Continuing on our lesson about ancient monsters and deities, today's lesson will be about an Ancient Greek creature- a Siren," she said, a hint of corny mysteriousness in her voice. The word siren seemed to make Lana's ears perk up.

"A Siren," she continued, "Is a beautiful, yet very dangerous creature. They are usually seen as beautiful women, most often in the ocean, and their enchanting voices and music lured sailors to either jump off the ship and drown themselves or steer their ships into a rocky coastline. Sirens are said to live on islands called Sirenum Scopuli. Nobody knows where these islands were- as most sailors never sailed past one and lived to tell about it. Now, please open your textbooks to page 324 and complete the activities..."

Mrs. Teague rambled on about directions that Lana and Ophelia paid no attention to. Both of them were intrigued about these Sirens. The girls always had some odd fascination with the ocean, and these Sirens seemed very interesting.

"Miss Murray!" Mrs. Teague shouted. Both Ophelia and Moana snapped out of their daydreams. The teacher was in
front of Lana, her arms crossed. "Will you be so kind as to repeat the instructions for your classmates?"

Lana gulped. She had been to engrossed in her thoughts about Sirens to pay attention. "Ah... Complete the activities...?" she said shakily.

"Well... I'll accept that. Now get to work, all of you. If you don't finish, it's homework." The rest of the class passed fairly quickly, and Ophelia managed to rid herself of her Siren thoughts... For now.
