Chapter 12: Kill the Giant Danger Beast

~Mountaintop near Night Raid Hideout~
*(Y/N) (L/N) POV*

At first it was just a hunting mission to locate and eradicate the danger beasts, but no... That had to be ruined by the arrival of fucking General Esdeath. Unfortunately for us, she killed one of the danger beasts we were meant to find and kill. There went my stress reliever. Before I could even question Esdeath, she walked over and completely smothered Tatsumi in her breasts. Sure, I can admit Esdeath was sexy as hell, but her personality and mentality were a major turnoff.

"I'd know your scent anywhere," Esdeath says to Tatsumi after exerting a chuckle. "Good to see you, Tatsumi! So tell me why you ran away. I've missed you so much!"

I couldn't help but feel bad for Tatsumi's situation, but internally, I was laughing my ass off. Oh poor Tatsumi, wait until Mine hears about this.

"Well, this is a surprise," I spoke grabbing both their attention. "Hello there, General Esdeath. Care to answer why you are here?"

"Oh, Decimus," Esdeath replies. "I almost forgot you were here. To answer your question, I'm here to capture the Danger Beasts attacking the Capital. Uh... Which leads me to the question why you both are here."

Of course, Tatsumi began sweating bullets like no tomorrow. I sighed mentally knowing the wrong answer could land us either captured... or dead.

"Oh, yeah, um... before--" Tatsumi begins to tell Esdeath, I cut him off.

"What my apprentice means to say is that I have taken him as my apprentice," I replied for Tatsumi, as he held a "are you serious?" look. "Plus, I've heard of several new Danger Beasts wandering around and I thought it'd be an opportune time to see Tatsumi's training."

"Y-Yeah! That's right!" Tatsumi says going along. "Plus, do you think maybe you could let go of me?"

"I will not," Esdeath replies quickly before looking at me. "You see the potential in Tatsumi as I have?"

"Of course, his skills are raw, uneasy, but I do believe he has what it takes to rival one with an Imperial Arms," I said while Tatsumi looks at me shocked. "But my apprentice is correct. Could you let him go, General? He looks a bit uneasy and nervous."

"I'm not letting him go." Esdeath replies while I look at her as I tilt my helmet in confusion. That was until Tatsumi got out of her grasp and held Incursio tightly.

"As my mentor said, we heard there were some Danger Beasts on the mountain!" Tatsumi says. 

"A man after my own heart," Esdeath says while I roll my eyes. "Well? Did you join the Revolutionary Army, yet?"

"Tatsumi... you never mentioned such thing to me," I said while "playing" the mentor-role. "Were you going to join behind my back?"

"I-It's not what you think!" Tatsumi says to me. "I was going to tell you, but I'm still planning to enlist as soon as I can."

"I guess you could say this was a way to hone Tatsumi's skills and see where he could improve." I said out loud as Esdeath makes her way towards Tatsumi and begins to fell his muscles.

"Yes. I see that. Judging by the amount of muscle you've built up I'd wager your abilities have exponentially grown," Esdeath tells Tatsumi before petting his head. "You've obviously been working hard! And under Decimus's tutelage too! With so much room to improve!"

"You really think so?" Tatsumi asks while rubbing the back of his head.

"As hilarious as this is, we don't have time for this," I thought to myself. "We need something to distract Esdeath long enough for us to escape, but what?"
