Chapter 14: Kill the Dolls

~Canyons several miles from Imperial Capital~
*Narrator POV*

Within the canyons several miles from the Imperial Capital, three members of the Jaegers, Kurome, Bols, and Miyoshi, face off with a majority of Night Raid, however, Night Raid were caught off guard by Kurome utilizing her Imperial Arms, Yatsufusa, and summoned her puppets, mainly her Desta Ghoul puppet which towered over the assassins.

"How fun..." Kurome began speaking from atop her Desta Ghoul's skull. "...a battle between Imperial Arms. How many will die?"

As Kurome giggles, psychotically, her Desta Ghoul roars as Night Raid watches from below.

"The more puppets she has, the slower her reaction time," Akame states while gripping Murasame then charges forward. "That works to my advantage."

"Akame, wait!" (Y/N) calls out but was left unheard as Akame hops around the battlefield and onto the Desta Ghoul with the intention of killing Kurome atop. Once on Kurome's level, the two lock swords and deliver a few blows until Akame's attack was blocked by someone, or rather a puppet, she once knew from her past.

"N-Natara?" Akame softly says in shock. The bodyguard, known as Natara, swung his spear around Akame before she leapt out of the way. "Please put him to rest, Kurome! You grew up together!"

"How could you say that, Akame?" Kurome questioned as both her and Natara both charge at Akame. "I want him to stay close to me forever and ever, he's my special friend. Like how Decimus is your "special friend." And I would love to add you both to my collection. 'Cause that way... we could be together like the old days. As for Decimus, well... I'll only add him for your sake, dear sister."

"Not on your life!" Akame replies with a growl before she gets knocked off the Desta Ghoul from Puppet Natara leaving Akame falling towards the ground.

"Too bad." Kurome replies while Bols, from below, prepares an attack from Rubicante.

"Magma Drive!" Bols calls out while firing a ranged attack from Rubicante catching Akame off guard.

"His Imperial Arms can do ranged attacks?!" Akame questioned in thought. The attack was close to hitting Akame, until (Y/N) jumps in between with Gravities' Predator in minigun form while the gun shield was active, blocking the shot and carried Akame away. "(Y/N)?"

"Akame, don't attack them alone!" (Y/N) tells Akame while descending towards the ground. "This isn't like you Akame! I understand your feelings and obligations with Kurome, but think before you act!"

"Oh... I'm sorry." Akame apologizes as the two reach solid ground and turn towards the towering Desta Ghoul puppet.

"These guys don't seem like they're gonna go down without a fight, do they?" Tatsumi questions out loud.

"That's a big fucking doubt, Tatsumi," (Y/N) replies while staring intently at the Desta Ghoul. "Our problem, puppet-wise, is that Desta Ghoul, however... that bodyguard is going to be a pain in the ass."

From above, the Desta Ghoul lets down both Kurome and Puppet Natara onto a cliff nearby. Kurome turns around and looks down onto both Akame and (Y/N).

"Big sister..." Kurome begins. "...it's a shame you betrayed the Empire and sided with them. Desta Ghoul! Crush them!"

With the single command, the colossal puppet began charging power with all the members of Night Raid, including both Miyoshi and Bols, jumping out of the way as the power was fully charged and was unleashed decimating a quarter of the canyon away. From the distance, and behind cover, Mine watched the scene in play and was in shock by the power.
