During the war

"No no no no no no no." I thought as I saw my sensei get struck through the heart with multiple rods.

I look to my left to see a thing of rods now flying at me.

"No!" I heard someone scream, that someone jumped in front of the rods, getting struck by all of them. "Are you okay?"

I looked up to see Sakura, she was the one that got in the way.

"Why?" I asked as she fell to the floor.

"Because, you always helped me." She said before coughing up blood. "Tell Sasuke-kun I say sorry."

Sakura felt cold now. She was no longer breathing.

"Don't worry, I'll end this war." I said before placing her down and running in the direction of others. "Sasuke!"

I kept running until I was met with the rest of the shinobi alliance.

"Kakashi-sensei and Sakura have died!" I yelled at the group when I arrived.

Everyone seemed shocked. I mean who would expect that randomly.

"Where's Sasuke!" Kiba yelled out.

"I don't know! I'll go searching!" I yelled back, running off again

"Naruto! No!" I heard Ino yell, but I was already off.

I kept running until I could sense Sasuke's chakra. Tears started to fall as I realized the situation. Sakura, my best friend and first crush, is dead. Kakashi, my sensei and one of the first people there for me, is dead. Now Sasuke, my rival, might be dead.

I soon started seeing black hair and felt his chakra so I sped up.

"You weakling." Madara spat as Sasuke was frozen in the air.

"Madara!" I called out once I was behind him.

"What happened to Obito?" He questioned me, not turning around.

"He refused to fight anymore!" I paused. "Kakashi died, he seemed mortified."

"Wait! Kakashi died!" Sasuke yelled as he tried to get out of this invisible grasp.

"Well it's your turn." Madara said as he started sending Sasuke's sword through Sasuke's chest.

"Sasuke!" I yelled running towards Sasuke who was now on the ground, his sword through his heart. "Sasuke!"

"Naruto." Sasuke said, failing to sit up.

"Just give up. You lost. You lost your team, there's no way to win." Madara said, I could feel his eyes on me.

"Naruto. You need to fight." Sasuke weakly said as he finally managed to sit up. "I'll be gone, this is the last time I'll see you."

"Sasuke! Stop talking! I'll help you!" I yelled, feeling tears stream down my face.

Before Sasuke could reject me, I picked him up and shushin to the shinobi alliance.

"Ino we need medical work! I'll help with all I can!" I yelled out for Ino, and saw her run up.

"Sasuke-kun!" Ino yelled as she started her work. "Naruto! You need to slowly take the sword out!"

"Naruto. Ino. Stop." Sasuke said, looking at me.

"So you really are trying to save him." I heard Madara say behind me, my hands going cold.

I turned my head back to look at Madara.

"Even if you two fight to the death?" Madara asked, but I couldn't speak. "You really are like Hashirama, aren't you?"

Madara looked between Sasuke and me. He then turned around to face Obito.

"Let's end this." Madara said, Obito nodded.

I notice everyone getting on the defensive, Ino keeping Sasuke alive. I just sat there staring at the two.

Obito put his hand into a symbol and whispered a few words. A few seconds later Madara disappeared.

"Naruto, boy." Obito said, everyone seemed to drop their guard. "I'm sorry."

I nodded my head.

"Become Hokage, the one thing I couldn't do." Obito finished as he walked off

I immediately turned my head towards Sasuke, I saw the sword fully out and Ino doing her hardest, Tsunade joining.

"He's not going to make it." Tsunade said, looking at me.

"That's not true baa-chan, it can't be!" I yelled.

Anger, sadness, regret, and fear started to fill me.

I felt something grab my hand so I looked down to see Sasuke's hand holding mine. "Thank you for everything, I love you." Sasuke's hand went limp and cold.

"Sasuke." I whispered, looking into his blank, lifeless eyes. "Sasuke!"

It's been years since the war. I adopted a kid named Kawaki. He reminds me of Sasuke.

I am now Hokage and I am visiting Sasuke's grave.

"I wish I had told you earlier." I whispered to Sasuke's grave. "I love you to."
