LACHSA
Los Angeles, California
12:35 pm"See you guys tomorrow. Have a great rest of your day," Beyoncé said as she watched her fourth period class leave the choir room for lunch.
She walked over to her desk and took a seat. She sighed as she spun around in her chair deep in thought.
It had been a few days since she'd called Jay and that woman answered, and she really didn't know what to do about the situation.
She had definitely enjoyed the time that they'd spent together, but that incident with Winston just reminded her of all the reasons she wanted to protect herself.
Plus, she'd left Jay hanging so long that she was sure he'd moved on by now as evidenced by that phone call.
She kept telling herself that it would be best if she did the same. On one hand, she thought that what happened with Winston might've been a sign to just end things with Jay before things got too serious.
But no matter what she told herself, she couldn't get Jay out of her head. She liked him, and she always had a good time with him. She hated that whatever they had seemed to be over, and part of her felt like an idiot for how this had all played out.
She found herself extremely conflicted about the whole ordeal.
After sitting and thinking for a few minutes, she pulled out her phone and found Jay's name in her contact list.
She let her finger hover over the call button for a while as she waited to make her decision.
She thought that she at least owed him an apology and explanation for the way she'd ghosted him.
As she was about to call him, she saw someone walk into her choir room.
"Hey," she heard before she looked up.
"Hi Idris. What can I do for you?" she asked as she realized who it was.
"I just came to check on you. You haven't really seemed like yourself these past few days," he told her as he came and sat on her desk.
She stood and moved away from her desk to avoid being so close to him.
"Well, thanks, but I'm fine Idris," she told him.
"Alright, just checking, so what are you doing for lunch?" he asked her.
"Well, I was—," she started before he cut her off.
"Because I was thinking that we could try that new place around the corner. My treat. It's supposedly really great, and—," Idris said before he was interrupted by someone else walking into her room.
