Summary: You have an arranged marriage with Mattheo Riddle but he was in love with someone else before

Neither of you wanted this.
It was an arranged marriage between you and Mattheo but he was in love with another girl, Madeline.
He hid her scarf and pictures of her in his drawer but you always saw him looking at them and even falling asleep holding the scarf.
It no longer smelled like her and he blamed you for it.
He tried to fill her place with you. He would be intimate with you but would m0@n her name. When he did something with you, it was always something she said she wanted to do.
You wanted to feel loved and like you were cared for.
He would tell you he loved you but it was always "I love you Madeline" and you knew it'd never be "I love you y/n"
He did it again. But this time you were finally going to confront him.
You wanted to leave, to run away and find someone that truly loved you but you couldn't.
You sat downstairs lost in thought until you were interrupted by Mattheo coming downstairs.
Y- "I'm not Madeline you know"
M- "so?" (a/n: so *bitchslap*)
Y- "HOW CAN YOU BE SO CRUEL? I'm my own person, I want to be cared about- not hated for something I have no control over."
Mattheo stayed quiet. What you said was like a hard slap. He had been saying her name on purpose out of anger, only assuming it would annoy or anger you, not hurt you.
He loved her but already knew he had to get over her and he slowly did. He even stopped looking at her pictures, though you hadn't noticed.
He snapped out of his thoughts when he realized you went upstairs so he went after you.
You were sobbing in bed and he lied down and wrapped his arms around you.
M - "I'm sorry. I really am. I was mad and took it out on you. You didn't deserve that. I'm trying, for you."
It took a while for everything to be okay but soon enough, it was "I love you y/n"
