4: Move on

TW: being used, worthless feelings

Draco and Astoria (no hate to her, it's only for the point of the story) had a serious relationship for 2 years. They were each others first for many things, including both of their first breakups and Astoria's first time cheating. 

Draco was absolutely shattered when he found her and to make matters worse, she happily left him for the other guy. 

You and Draco were best friends so he immediately went to you for comfort. It pained you to see him like that and you wished more than anything that you could take that pain away from him. 

Over the next few months, he slowly got closer to you and he asked you out. 

One day you came up and hugged him from behind only to hear him say "Astoria!?!?" in the most hopeful tone you had ever heard him in. 

When he turned around and realized it was you, he panicked but was able to convince you that it was a simple mistake and not to break up with you. 

About a month after the incident, you went to Dracos dorm because you had a nightmare. 

He was asleep at his desk while writing in his diary. You were going to respect his privacy and put the diary away but then you saw it. 

A picture of Astoria. Your heart sunk but you swallowed the feeling and read through his diary. 

It was about how much he loved Astoria. All of it. How he thought of her every time you two cuddled or did the deed. How he imagined her face or her voice when you spent time together. How he admitted he could never get over her. 

At this point your eyes were glossed over, tears threatening to spill but all that turned into harsh, silent sobs when you got to the most recent page. 

Astoria asked him out again. 

And he said yes. 

He still wasn't over her and that page was what made you realize that your entire relationship was a lie. He used you as a replacement for Astoria the whole time and lied to your face about it. You dropped the book and ran as far as you could. 

You ended up in the astronomy tower. 

The cold weather made you shiver but you were too upset to care. You sat there for hours crying, feeling used and worthless. 

But hey, at least your wish came true. You got to take away his pain, even if it only lasted a short while. 

While at the tower an old friend of yours, Mattheo Riddle, put his arm around you. You both used to be good friends but drifted apart over the years. 

He stayed with you for hours, just whispering sweet nothings and playing with your hair. 

He didn't pressure you to say anything despite wanting to know who made you feel this way so he could go knock their teeth out. 

His soothing soon put you to sleep and when he noticed, he had the biggest smile on his face that he just couldn't force back down. 

M- "After all this time I still love you the same." 

Draco started his day as normal but grew worried when he didn't see you at breakfast or lunch. 

He took this as a chance to be as close to Astoria as he wanted but his stomach sunk when he came back and realized his diary was on the floor. 

You must have seen it. Oh gosh. You weren't supposed to know about any of that. You weren't supposed to find out like that. (no sh!t sherlock)

He went looking for you, only to find you with Mattheo. 

He began begging for your forgiveness, hating to see you hurt and for some reason, being scared of losing you. 

To sum it up, you screamed at him about how wrong everything he did was and sealed the deal with a punch from Mattheo and a kick from you.

He decided to just go back to Astoria because that is what he wanted in the first place after all, right? 

**time skip** Draco and Astoria were dating again but it wasn't the same. 

He didn't trust her and you made your place in the back of his mind 24/7. 

He felt bad for not being able to trust Astoria until he saw her cheating again. The deja vu made him never want to love again. 

This time, however, he had no one to stay up with him and put a smile on his face. 

This only made him realize how much you did to him and that he left you feeling as heartbroken as Astoria had done to him. The thought of him making you feel the way he felt made him physically sick. 

He was now in more pain than he ever was and this time it was entirely his fault. 

He went to go see you so he could apologize and maybe have you back. But when he got there, he was met with the news that you and Mattheo were now dating. 

You both loved each other and you had made sure you were over Draco before getting with Mattheo. 

Dracos heart shattered so he just apologized and left but you chased after him. You both had a long talk about everything and wished him well with his future before going back to Mattheo.
