It had been days since the party and Stevie hadn't went into the office, she'd decided the night of the party she was done, she figured she'd be fired anyways after there little disagreement. She was used to dealing with people like Tremaine, the cooperate know it all's, etc, but she was getting to place in her life, where some situations weren't really worth it. After ignoring Jada and Tremaine's calls, she planned to go in today to grab her things from her office and give him her registration letter, she didn't need to let him ruin her career and reputation.
"Oh, my, God! Stevie," Jada popped up from her seat as Stevie climbed off the elevators.
Stevie held her hand up. "I'm just coming to grab my stuff out the office and give that son of a bitch my resignation letter,"
Jada sighed as she huffed a heavy breath. "You can't! Stevie, please, have you seen the paper?"
Stevie reached Jada's desk, sitting the resignation paperwork down. She rested her forearms on top. "No why what's in it?" She asked looking at Jada, who snatched the newspaper up happily pushing it towards her. "Read it! Read it!"
"It was a total pleasure interviewing Mr.Maverick, after throwing what some would call a stellar charity event over the weekend. Racking up over 1.8 million dollars in donations for his company. And when asked how did he do it in comparison to the previous hosts? He simply smiled and gave a huge shout-out to his assistant, a one, Stevie Calhoun, who pulled the entire event together the day of. So there you have it, if you're looking to rack up millions? Give Stevie Calhoun a call--"
Stevie lowered the newspaper from reading the article from one of thee columnists from the party that interviewed Tremaine the night off. Her bottom jaw dropped, stunned. "He mentioned me?" She questioned looking up at Jada's cheeky smile.
"Yes! Look, I know he's a ass. Don't let him run you away, Stevie. Don't let him see you crack, you're a tough cookie. I told you from the beginning, if you let him push you over? He's going to use all his might, believe me if he didn't want to tolerate you? You'd be gone, like these past couple days? Here's been down my freaking back about getting in contact--"
"Jada!" Tremaine's door opened but he paused when he noticed Stevie standing there talking with her. "Ms. Calhoun I'm glad you're here, I need you to fix..."
"No," She uttered stiffly.
"Cuse'me?" He pulled his glasses off his face.
Stevie turned crossing her arms at her breasts. "I said, no, in, oh! I'm not your employee anymore. I thought we both agreed the night of the party? I only came to clean out my office and to drop off my resignation letter,"
Tremaine held the bridge of his nose. Emitting a heavy breath. He stepped back pushing his back against his door to make an enterance. "Stevie could I talk to you for a moment?"
