Stevie glanced at the clock, feeling a surge of anxiety. Tremaine had been rushing her all evening, insisting she hurry and get dressed. The constant prodding was unusual for him, and it was making her increasingly nervous. As she struggled with the clasp of her earring, she muttered under her breath, "What's the big rush anyway?"

From downstairs, she heard Tremaine's voice, "Stevie! Come on, we're going to be late!"

She took a deep breath, adjusting the beautiful gown that had been custom-made for her. The fabric flowed gracefully around her, shimmering subtly with every movement. Tremaine had gifted her this dress for what he described as a "special dinner," but now she was beginning to suspect there was more to it. She fixed her second earring, glanced in the mirror one last time, and started down the stairs.

As she descended, her irritation melted away. The dress fit her perfectly, and the way it made her feel was almost magical. Tremaine was waiting at the bottom, looking as dashing as ever in his suit, but there was a twinkle in his eye that she couldn't quite place.

Just as she reached the middle of the staircase, she noticed the faint hum of voices beyond the hallway. She paused, puzzled. Tremaine took a step forward, extending his hand toward her, but before she could grasp it, a chorus of voices erupted.

"Surprise!"

Stevie's eyes widened as the hallway came into full view, revealing a room filled with their closest family and friends. The space was adorned with twinkling lights and balloons, creating an atmosphere of joyous celebration. The collective cheer reverberated through her, making her heart pound in her chest. She looked around, recognizing the familiar faces of those she loved most.

The reality of the moment hit her like a wave. This wasn't just any dinner; it was an engagement party, a celebration of their love. Overwhelmed by emotion, she stopped in her tracks, her legs suddenly feeling like they might give out. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she couldn't hold them back.

She sank onto the steps, burying her face in her hands as she sobbed. The joy, the surprise, and the love she felt from everyone around her were too much to process all at once. Tremaine was beside her in an instant, wrapping his arms around her and whispering soothing words in her ear.

"It's okay, kitten. It's okay," he murmured, holding her close. "I wanted to give you a night you'd never forget."

Stevie lifted her head, her tear-streaked face breaking into a radiant smile. "You did, Tremaine. You did, baby."

He gently wiped away her tears with his thumb, his eyes never leaving hers. "I love you, Stevie. And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

She leaned into him, her heart full to bursting. "I love you too," she whispered.

Their friends and family erupted into applause and cheers, the joyous noise surrounding them like a warm embrace. Stevie looked out at the sea of smiling faces, feeling a profound sense of gratitude. She had always dreamed of a moment like this, but the reality far surpassed any fantasy.

Tremaine was pulling all stops to give Stevie the dream life he knew she desired and was meant to have. Vowing to shower her with every ounce of love he had inside of his body; he wanted her to know he was grateful she'd chosen him. And he in return, was letting her know he would never stop choosing her.

As the night unfolded, Stevie was enveloped in love and celebration. She moved through the crowd, hugging friends and family, receiving well-wishes and heartfelt congratulations. The atmosphere was electric with happiness, every corner of the room buzzing with excitement.
