On a general Wednesday noon, Lucas would be with Laura at her office or playing video games or would be doing anything that didn't involve egging someone's house.

Out of all the things Lucas thought he would be doing this fine sunny day, he didn't think about ambushing a grocery store with Joy.

Right before they could reach Charlotte's house, Joy decided to ambush a grocery store. She didn't receive his permission, but there wasn't much time unless he wanted to lose her in the store.

"Are we doing this?" Lucas sputtered, as he skid to a stop next to Joy, who was studying the wall of eggs in front of them probably for the cheapest brand.

"Yes, we are!" Joy declared, reaching down for two big cartons of perhaps the cheapest eggs and handing them to Lucas. "It's on your bucket list."

"Well yeah, I remember writing it," Lucas said, brows furrowing when Joy put two more cartons into his arms. "Hey, don't you think—,"

"—Revenge is better with style." She waved him off, a smirk toying on her lips. "It's all or nothing."

"It's all or nothing until we get caught!" He shot back, trying to keep up with her. It was a pain trying to keep up with her, his heartbeats quickening with every step. His lungs had to work overtime to support his body. Along the way, Joy did end up noticing his struggle.

Thankfully she didn't say much, instead slowed down but the determination in her eyes raged on. Lucas appreciated it, sort of.

"Why are you so fired up?" Lucas asked when the two of them were in the toiletry aisle. He knew where this was heading, and he was excited which shouldn't be the right way to put this.

Honestly, he didn't know what to feel. It wasn't like he hated Charlotte. Yes, he was still angry because of what happened between them in the past, but Lucas didn't blame her for leaving him behind back then since a lot of people, including himself, thought he was going to die so it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

It was probably Charlotte's little way of tying up loose ends— or well, cutting them off. It happened a long time ago and even if the things she said were hurtful, Lucas wasn't so sure if they should be doing this.

Leave things in the past, y'know?

Joy, on the other hand, didn't agree. At all.

"Why wouldn't I be? We're gonna trash a shithead's place. She had it coming." Joy shrugged, brushing the hair away from her eyes.

"You're acting like you are the one she offended," Lucas snorted.

"Yeah, 'coz she did. Offend me, that is," Joy replied, coming to stop in front of a wall of toilet paper. She crouched down, grabbing a set and propping them beneath her arm.

"Do you take everything so personally?" Lucas asked. Joy stood back up, turning to face him, but the expression on her face, the frown, nearly caught him off guard.

"No," She said, looking absolutely ridiculous while hugging those toilet paper rolls close to her chest, but he knew this wasn't the time to make fun of her. "She just bothers me."

"It shouldn't. It's not your situation to worry about," Lucas let out a breathy laugh, though it sounded more like a scoff. Joy rolled her eyes, and once again she turned around and started walking.

"Are you giving me attitude, Jones?" Lucas joined her side with ease this time. At least when she was irritated, she wasn't power-walking with passion.

"Do you not like it when people worry about you?" The suddenness of her question made the skin between his brows furrow.
