Chapter 14: Interlude II

*Lydia*

Hey, what's Stiles phone number-A

 Aiden sent this text out of the blue. Has he finally taken his head out of his ass?

Depends on why you want it. 

We want to hear his side, his version. 

Who's we?

 Jackson, Ethan, and I. Scott's been saying some shit that doesn't really make sense. I'm also thinking that you were right for taking his side. 

I'm always right, but yeah I'll give you his number. Just be prepared to have a conversation with me afterward.

*Stiles*

I've been hanging out with Peter all day when my phone rang. Unknown number. 

"Hello?" 

Peter just glanced at me, pulling me more into his lap. 

"Hey Stiles, it's Aiden." 

Why is he calling me? I'm assuming Lydia gave him my number. Why didn't she warn me? 

"I'm sorry." I blurted. Despite apologizing to Lydia about the almost killing Aiden thing, I never got to speak to Aiden about it because he actively avoided me. 

"Stiles, um, Ethan, Jackson, and I would like to mee with you." 

"Why?"

"We would like to hear your side about what happened with the Nogitsune and after. I would like to understand why Lydia picked your side because I'm starting to believe she was right in doing so. For leaving Scott's pack."

They're willing to listen, to hear my side. To try and understand. Aiden's not immediately shouting at me, dismissing me. He reached out to understand.  Where as trying to get Scott to have a conversation with me was like pulling teeth. 

"Okay, when and where?" 

"Lacross Field this afternoon?"

Better to get it done sooner rather than later. Plus the time works great because Peter's teaching an evening class

"That works." 
"Alright see you around then." and he hung up. 

"Easy little one." 

Am I crying? 

"Stiles...." 

" That was Aiden. Lydia's mate, one the Nogitsune tried to kill when He possessed me. he actually wants to have a conversation about it. Wants to hear my side of the sort, basically my side about what happened. Not Scott's words. He's trying to figure out what Lydia chose me over her position in the McCall pack." 

"Over her position?"

"She left. Lives at my house now. She's like my sister, my best friend. She took my side even without talking about what happened. The only one to tell me she forgave me. That she understood." 

" Then she's definitely a keeper. She knows you, actually listens. She's a good friend."

"Yeah." I agreed. He squeezed me once more before speaking.

"Would you like me to drop you off on my way to work?"

"Would you?" 

"Gladly, but for now you're mine."

Nerve Wrecking. This conversation can go one of two ways and I'm unsure of which direction this one will go. Not like how I knew the similar conversation I had with Scott and Allison would go bad. The difference here is that Aiden, Jackson, and Ethan might not be a fan of my personality but they don't outright hate me. They want to know what my side of the story is instead of blindly listening to Scott and Allison. Aiden reached out to ask if we could have a conversation. A conversation so he could know/understand two things. First of all, why Lydia chose my side. To stick by me. Secondly, my side of the story. My side of the events and what went down beginning with the Nogitsune through at least Donavon.  To understand Lydia's decision. But, walking to the lacross field from the school parking lot is where I think most of the anxiety comes from. It also doesn't help that I smell like Peter and I'm going to be having a conversation with two werewolves and a hybrid. Honestly, I just don't know how they're going to react. I do know that Ethan will be the calmer one of the three. The possible mediator.
