Chapter 23: Realizations and Hyperfixations part 2

*Stiles*

 Here's what I know: 

* Kate, Gerard, and Victoria Argent all got into Allison's head growing up. 

* Chris is afraid of Allison corrupting his second chance

* Allison became what they wanted. 

* Allison is manipulating Scott. 

 So the easiest way to harm a werewolf is with wolfsbane, so I guess we'll dive deeper into the wolfsbane lore first. 

* Wolfsbane is a plant that has been a familiar plot element in horror movies, television shows, and novels. 

- For example, in Harry Potter, Remus Lupin, a tormented werewolf, drinks a potion of wolfsbane carefully concocted to control his transformations

* In Greek Mythology, wolfsbane (Aconitum) originated from the toxic slobber of a 3 headed dog named Cerberus, the scary canine guardian to the gates of Hell. 

-Ancient Greeks hunted wolves by posing their bait with this plant

    > While those hunting traditions were lost. (They weren't lost, people just never looked in the right place) the plant retained its common name into the middle ages when wolves and werewolves were a genuine fear in Europe. 

The Argents are from France so this (along with the Beast) is probably how they became werewolf hunters in the first place. 

* It was believed that having contact with wolfsbane on a full moon could actually cause shape-shifting. Patients who suffered from lycanthropy were prescribed a regular -and often lethal- dose of wolfsbane by their medical doctors. 

Okay, wolfsbane is still super lethal and would be noticeable. I'm sure most dosages of wolfsbane to a werewolf are lethal. So what if she's diluting it with something or cutting it with something?

Possible drugs being consumed:

* Cocaine: After effects- an intense crash characterized by irritability and paranoia

- which would make sense if Allison, herself, was using. She is paranoid that I'm out to kill her, especially after the Nogitsune. Everything anyone does that takes attention off of her or is a little bit inconvenient, aggravates her. She could wait a few minutes and literally get frustrated for no reason. 

*Hallucinogens

- LSD: commonly causes sensations and feelings to change rapidly-causes illusions (being deceived by the normal) and hallucinations (a false or mistaken idea) 

This could be what she's cutting the wolfsbane with to get into Scott's head. However, there are probably some hunter tricks and herbs that I'm not privy to that she could be used instead of or with the LSD. But the more I'm reading this, the more I can see what effects it has on Scott, especially his wolf. I can definitely pick out some recent events where this would make sense. Starting with the conversation I had with Scott and Allison where I got kicked out of the pack 

"Emotional pain. Like what? What did you have that caused it to be so much stronger than you? Caused you to give up?" 

- But when he said it. It was like the beginning part was my best friend, Scott. The ending was someone else speaking through him. I still can't believe I never saw the signs. I was possessed. I know the feeling of someone else's words coming out of your mouth. The Nogitsune did terrible things through me.
