*Danny*

Ethan called me over to his house to talk. He sounded worried and tense which definitely didn't help my nerves. I have to assume he found his mate. I'm glad he wants to talk to me face to face and not just let me find out by potentially walking in on him and his mate. I knew us dating was risky, that there was a chance that we weren't mates. But I don't regret anything we had/have/did. Honestly, we were probably good practice for each other. Good experiences were had. Learning definitely occurred within our relationship.

Ethan and Aiden turned 16 a month or two ago. So it's not a stretch for me to think this. I turn 16 in a couple of weeks, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

I pulled up in front of Ethan's home. It looks like everyone else isn't home currently, at least from the outside. As I make my way up to the front door, Ethan comes out meeting me at the front steps. Visually, he's a mess of nerves. He's such a caring person. He's afraid of to hurt my feelings. Something I definitely appreciate.

Ethan guides me to sit on the top step with him.

I know that look on his face.

"You found your mate," I stated.

Silence followed.

"I'm sorry, I just don't think I can stay."

Why is he sorry about finding his mate?

"It's okay."

He looked at me. Recognition in his eyes.

"You're breaking up with me."
"I...I like you a lot. You're incredibly good-looking and smart and sweet. And I... I just don't think I can do it."

"Date me?"

"Dating a werewolf," I stated patting his leg.

"You knew," the surprise on his face.

Like this isn't fucking Beacon Hills.

"Dude, it's Beacon Hills."

With that, he gave me one last goodbye kiss before we both stood up. I got almost to my car before I turned around to find Ethan still watching me.

"So, who is it?"

"Jackson."

I laughed out, "Good Luck!"

With a wave, I got in my car and drove home.

I wonder who my mate will be.

It's my birthday. My 16th birthday, meaning it's time to message my mate. But it's something that'll have to wait till later because Coach has us practicing before School this morning and I do not wish to be on his bad side.

Getting to practice, Ethan knocked shoulders with me.

"Happy Birthday."

"Thanks." I hummed.

"So have you written yet?"

"No."

"Good."

"Good?"

"Yeah, I kinda want to be there. So lunch."

"Okay, lunch."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've made it to lunch.

I barely sat down before Ethan is shoving a pen into my hands.

"Impatient."
