Toni's P.O.V
"She's your what?"
"She's my daughter."
"Dre why am I just finding out about this?"
"Well I didn't exactly know how to bring it up."
"How about hey Toni before we take this any further there's something you should know."
"I needed to make sure that we were going to be serious, I don't just want to be bringing a whole bunch of girls around my daughter. After I knew we were serious I just didn't know when or how to say it because I didn't know how'd you take it. It wasn't something I was planning on keeping from you forever."
I honestly didn't know what to think.
"So what you wanna do?" He asked looking at me.
I sighed. "I honestly don't know, I just need to think."
"Alright." He said nodding his head. He walked over to me and gave me a kiss on my cheek. "Call me when you know what you want to do." With that he was out the door.
Devin walked over to me. "Sorry you had to find out like this Toni."
"Better now then never right?" I said giving him a weak smile.
He smiled back and walked over to Liyah. "Imma go so y'all can talk, I'll call you later." He leaned down and kissed her. She smiled and blushed a bit. Once he left I went and sat with April and Liyah.
"So what happened one minute I hear you going off the next it gets quiet." April said sitting up.
"Well I know who Jasmine is." The girls sat with anticipation waiting for me to continue. "She's his daughter." Both of their jaws dropped.
"Damn I should've put the pieces together." Liyah said slapping her forehead.
"What you mean?"
"Devin told me he had a god daughter named Jasmine, he would bring her up in conversation every now and then and every time I'd ask him who's baby she was he would always find a way to change the subject."
I just shook my head.
"So how do you feel?" April asked.
"I'm disappointed and not so much that he has a daughter but more so that he kept it from me. I mean we just really got serious and he's keeping major secrets from me."
"I hear you Toni but you've got to kind of understand where he's coming from. You guys just got serious so before recently he wasn't sure where this relationship would go or if it would even be a full blown relationship. He probably doesn't want to be bringing just anybody and everybody around his child." Liyah explained.
"Okay but him telling me about her didn't mean he would've had to bring her around me at first. I would've just liked to have known before now." I sighed deeply.
"So what are you gonna do?"
"I don't know, I just don't want any drama. I don't know Jasmine's mother who's to say she's cool with another girl around her daughter all the time or she still has feelings for Dre I'm not up for all that."
"So you're gonna make this work?"
"Maybe I'm just not sure."
"Well right now you're just jumping to conclusions with the situation, talk to Dre and get all the details on him Jasmine and her mother and you can go from there." April said while Liyah nodded in agreement.
"Alright, I'm gonna go home I don't want to bring you guys down because of my stank mood." I gave both of them higs and drove home. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm gonna do. I walked in the house and plopped onto the couch. My mother walked into the living room.
