With my cotton candy blue hair pulled back into a French twist and my glasses covering my grey eyes, even with my wedge heels on I was on five foot four inches tall. Height was never on my side. My fair skin had scattered freckles on it. After the weight gain, it took me over a year to get it back off. My parents didn't understand the blue hair. They didn't understand the piercings or the tattoos. I told them they didn't have to because they were mine. They were part of my therapy and it helped me.
They finally shut up about it. Now that I wasn't teaching, I always kept my arms exposed because my left arm was a tattoo sleeve of nothing but music related tattoos. I had band emblems, lyrics, musical notes that made songs and more. I had book quotes going down my spine. I had French lettering below my bikini line. I had a Japanese Cherry Blossom tree on my right arm with Japanese writing around it. The only thing that didn't fit was what I was wearing.
The caramel-colored leather pencil skirt, sleeveless khaki fitted top and khaki wedge heeled boots. I still looked like a professor. Kat had told me to go around back and come in that way that her people were expecting me. She said all I had to do was show my ID and someone would take care of me. I parked my car in their parking lot on the side where there were a few buses. Made me question what was going on.
I walked up to the back door where this huge, burly looking guy was. He had long, curly black hair and bright blue eyes. He smiled when he saw me.
"Can I help you?"
"Kat told me to come to the back door. I'm a guest of hers," I said and gave him my driver's license.
"Ah, Dr. Iris Tatum. Yes ma'am. Kat didn't say how pretty you were."
"Thanks, I guess."
He handed me my license back and handed me a lanyard with pass on it.
"Just wear it when you're inside and you shouldn't have any issues. The green room is down the hallway and to the right. Just go in and make yourself comfortable. Kat should be here soon."
"Okay, thank you."
"You just get into town?"
"I did.""There is a bathroom inside the green room."
"Thanks."
"Bo."
"Thank you, Bo."
"You're welcome, Dr. Tatum."
He opened the door, and I went inside. Grabbing my phone, I texted her.
Hey love, I'm here.
I found the green room and went straight into the bathroom. There is nothing like a good pee after a long drive. I washed my hands when I finished before applying some lip gloss and some of my pheromone perfume. I don't think that crap worked, but I liked the smell of it. Adjusting my nose ring, I decided to go on out of the bathroom.
Opening the door, I about got plowed over. I yelped and the big mass I ran into caught me before I hit the floor.
"Oh my, are you alright? I did not see you!"
"I am kinda short and you're way up there. No big deal. Thanks for the save."
He got me to my feet and that's when I noticed all the hair.
"Oh, wow, that's a lot of hair. Let's get that out of your face," I said and brushed it back.
His face looked familiar, but I didn't question it. When he smiled at me, his face lit up and his eyes sparkled at me behind his glasses. He was rather handsome underneath all that hair.
"I'm sorry about that," he said. "I'm Chris," he said and held out his hand to me.
I took his hand in mine; "Iris."
