20: The Disaster

I couldn't help it. i was chatting with Green Eyes, but my amber eyes kept searching for Azula. She's worse than I am at these things, and I didn't want to deal with any anymore 2nd hand embarrassment. I had to watch for any moment to intervene and direct attention elsewhere.

Hence... the sneaky following her around.

When she told Chan that she wanted a tour the the house, and he ACTUALLY left the girl he was talking to, I was in utter shock. And complete awe.

Now, when they went out onto the porch, I really could have just left them alone.

BUT, I am kind of invested in this relationship now.

And as long as I don't get caught-

Did Azula just laugh!?

Like, a real, genuine, I'm not maniacally laughing at our inferiority to my prowess laugh!?!?

What he said isn't even that funny though. It's an island. Of course it has lots of sand.

"Your arms look so strong." Azula says in a low, sultry voice.

That's it. I'm out. There is no way I can handle this level of... whatever this is.

I slap my hand over my eyes.

"Together, you and I will be the strongest couple in the entire world." Wait, what- "We will dominate the Earth!" Azula announces. A strong blue flame burning with her passion in each hand.

I hid behind a display base as Chan shuffled in my direction to exit the awkward moment.

Yah... that was bad.

I peak through the door frame again at Zula. She looks actually sad about what just happened.

I'm debating between trying to comfort her... and pretending like I saw nothing.

Or, more specifically, heard nothing.

I feel like she might not respond so well to my spying on her. Especially after the scene that just went down.

I'll choose life and head back to the party.

But... after taking one last look at her... she seems really bummed.

Aaugh. I can't just leave her like this.

"Hey, Zul. Getting some fresh air?"

I think she actually just jumped.

"It was getting a bit stuffy in there."

I walk up to the railing and stare out into the night.

"Yah... the people here are a little... different than I'm used to." How am I supposed to treat her? We're not even that close. Why did I think I could help her?
