Opposites attract,
Yet I was never informed that they repel as well.

'Twas like a game of tug of war,
But our hearts were on the line,
I had no knowledge of what was in store for us,
For I was too clueless that time.

A taste of heaven and hell,
Hot and cold, nothing in between,
They say we complement,
But our every conversation was an argument.

Our differences counterbalance,
So why, oh why, did it still feel so imbalanced?

Push and pull,
Near you reel me in,
Farther you push me away.

Seems so close and yet so far,
I'm like the sun and you're but a star,
A star who's found their moon,
And a lonely sun who just watches from afar.

I'm not really the one for you I suppose.
So who am I to oppose?
