Positive. Tears poured down my cheeks as a smile spread across my face like an infection. I used the other that came in the box just in case it was a false positive. I doubted it as this was a dependable brand with very low rates of false positives or negatives.
Rochelle wrapped an arm around me, holding me tightly. We knew I was but I couldn't fully believe it unless the other came up positive too. Another positive. I let out a loud scream of pure excitement, Mona and Rochelle enveloping me in tight embrace as we cried together. The door quickly swung open, Judd standing in front of it with Diane and Elliott behind him, Elliott clinging to Diane.
"Dylan?" Judd asked shakily. I quickly thrusted them into his hands, my own trembling. He took a moment to look at the results, a smile bigger than mine appearing shortly after. He threw them back to his parents, putting slight effort into not hitting them in the face as it was still my piss. He lifted me up and held me close to him, planting soft kisses all over my face.
Diane cleared her throat after giving us our moment. "We have just another question, Dylan." She said handing Elliott back the tests. "Yeah?" "I thought you had started your period. A week or two ago?" I nervously bit my lip. "The truth is, the night before, Judd and I had sex. But it was my first time and well.." I was expecting her to yell at me or punish me in some form or fashion but she didn't. She simply nodded. "You didn't have to lie but I understand. Elliott and I try to teach everyone that if you're gonna do something risky or dangerous, please do it in the house." She said, giving me a soft smile.
"Now, can we talk about my grandbaby?" She asked, motioning to the living room. "Of course." I said with a laugh. We settled down on the couch and started a discussion with everyone about the test results and what that would mean. Nick was the first to say something. "13 and an uncle. Wow." He shook his head in disbelief. Leah leaned against the couch. "Nicky, it's not about you. Judd is gonna be a dad," She said, rolling her eyes. "Think about other people." Nick looked kind of butthurt, everyone began preparing for a meltdown. I was not going to deal with it.
He didn't, luckily. I sighed internally and ran a hand through my hair, leaning back into the couch. Leah moved to sit by me, gently grabbing my hand. "Can I throw a gender reveal for you?" Judd and I exchanged looks, him furrowing his brows. I answered before him. "Please! I'd love one, just nothing super bad for the environment or hard to clean." Leah agreed eagerly. Judd rolled his eyes, settling back into the couch. He thought I was dumb for that and he'd told me so before we got together. He also thought gender reveals were stupid.
I turned to look at him, my arms crossing over my chest. "Really?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "It is our first baby, I'm allowed to be excited Judd." He almost looked shocked, probably because I did my best to avoid confrontation with him. Yet here I was, 'talking back' over nothing really. I wasn't a pushover but I hated arguing with him, I just wanted him to love me. Probably my Borderline Personality Disorder speaking up but I did.
We went out with Leah and gathered things for a gender reveal. It was extremely early, yes, but she was so excited. I couldn't deny her this one thing. She hardly ever asked me for anything more serious than getting her something too if I went for food. We'd gotten most things except for food or drinks as it would just ruin. But I did pick up snack I knew I'd want. The cashier glanced at Judd and I, mostly glaring at Judd. He ignored it but I just couldn't, it was making me uncomfortable.
I waved a bit and smiled once she looked at me. "Hi, is there a problem?" I asked softly, not wanting to start any altercation with a fucking Walmart employee with a Dollar Tree attitude. "Yeah," She replied, looking back at Judd. "Why wouldn't you get me pregnant? Was I not good enough?" I'd thought of everything she could've said and that, that was not on the list.
