I stood up and collected Marty's plate, taking it over to the stove. I pulled the vegan scallops out of the fridge and began to reheat them in a pan, humming softly. Judd placed a hand on my back. "Honey, let me do it." He whispered, leaning his head against mine. "Judd, I can do it. We just found out today. I don't even have a bump yet. I'm perfectly capable of reheating scallops." I replied with a chuckle.

I did my best not to end up cooking them more and slid them on Marty's plate. I carried it over with a smile. "Also, don't be afraid to tell me if you hate them. I'll totally understand." I walked back to my seat and sat, beginning to eat the seconds Judd had grabbed. Marty hesitated before taking a bit, chewing a bit then looking at Barb. He looked at me after and nodded. "They taste just like real scallops. With the texture too. You did great." Barb let out a sigh of relief. "We'll see if they make you sick."

Everyone left a few hours later, Kurt never having said another word except to Val. Nick's friends hung back for a while. I talked to Jay and Lola the most though. "So you bought Jay those sheets and stuff?" I hesitantly nodded. "I'm sorry, Jay. I really thought you were cheating." She said, turning to Jay. "Congrats on the baby though! Can we take a pic together?" She asked after, holding up her phone. I couldn't say no, she was actually sweet under all of the usual Lola stuff.

We sat down together on the couch, her leaning into me. She chose a faux freckle filter on Snapchat and took the picture, posting it there and tagging me with the caption:

My new best friend is totally pregnant! Ugh so happy ❤❤❤ Love her sm! dyl.pxckle.42∅

She posted it on Instagram as well with the same captions and tagging me again, same user. Her notifications began blowing up, many of them from snap. Several from a girl named Devin, Nick told me that was her best friend after. Mine began blowing up when Lola refused to answer anyone.

Many hate comments from Devin on all of my insta pictures. The classics being:

•Another teen mom
•Attention whore
•Only ever posts thirsts 🤔 hm how does Judd feel
•I wonder if it's even Judd's 👀
•Stop liking her pictures Devon! What a homewrecker!

I began replying to her constant comments with: nah fr? Is that why ur man is just tolerating you? Bc ur just the fucking greatest? Then I ignored her. Lola and I had a good laugh about it after. She then told me about how Devin had ruthlessly slutshamed this girl, Gina. An old crush of Nick's, I thought as I tried to remember where I'd heard the name. I had decided to go to bed and let Lola know that she could text me anytime, I just might be a bit slow to respond.

I did end up dming Gina before I slept, letting her know she was not a slut no matter what she did. It was her body and she could decide what to do with it. Just with someone her age, like she did with Nick.
