"Megan's Matchmaking Services, where we make the sparks fly for you. How may I assist you?" My best friend, Kristen, said, answering the phone.

"Who is it?" I whispered to her.

She typed something in her laptop and showed me two words in big, bold, capital letters.

BEATRICE HACKSHAW

I groaned when I saw the name. This had better be good news. I've already paired her with five different guys! I hope the sixth one does the trick. I watch Kristen gently move the phone away from her ear as Beatrice squealed on the other line.

"He's perfect! Absolutely perfect!" She screamed. "Give the phone to Megan right now!"

Kristen simply shrugged and handed the phone over to me.

"Thank you, Megan! Thank you so much!" Beatrice screamed excitedly.

"So I take it that Martin's working well for you?" I said, not bothering to hide my joy and amusement.

It always feel amazing when two people I match together are perfect for each other. Especially if one of them is a bit tough to crack.

"Yes he is." She sighed dreamily. "At first, I thought that you're wrong since he's a complete dweeb! But then he turns out to be everything I find in a guy."

"So, I take it that the first date that I planned went well?" I questioned.

"It went better that well!" She screamed. "It was amazing! How did you get us to the most exclusive night club in all of New York?!" She screamed.

"I have my ways." I laughed.

"Oh Megan you're a genius!" She said. "Martin and I will be depositing the payment to you on Friday."

What? I don't work for free. Besides. The money I earn will go to me and my two best friends. Kristen and Carter. 40% for me and 20% for both Kristen and Carter, and the rest goes to our expenses. I know it seems unfair, but they're mostly helping out. Answering the phone and running errands for me. I do the real work.

I smiled. "So soon? You know I don't do refunds."

"Oh we know! We're certain of this now." She squealed.

"Okay. Bye now, Bea. I have other people to match."

"Bye!"

I brought the receiver down and smiled. Another match is set.

"I don't know how you do it." Carter sighed from the desk beside me. "Matching every single person flawlessly and you're not even in college yet."

"It's all in the genes." I laughed.

"How is it 'in the genes'?" Kristen asked me, pitting air quotes on the 'in the genes part'.

"My mom is New York's best Wedding Planner. How can it not be in the genes?" I questioned.

"Okay. You're right. It's in the genes. I accept defeat." Kristen said, feigning sadness.

"Aw. It's okay, babe." Carter said while giving her a peck on her lips.

I grinned at the sight. Carter and Kristen have been going strong for two years now and it's all because of me. They hated each other's guts before but now, whenever they look at each other, all they have is love in their eyes.

I shook my head and focused on my computer and clip board. I grabbed an extra folder from our small supply cabinet and, printed Bea and Martin's name and taped it on the side. I then stood up and filed it in our several filing cabinets.
