She stepped through the front doors and sighed. “Home.” The mere word made her whole body visibly relax. She kicked off her shoes and dropped her purse on the nearest pile of clutter in the hallway. It had been a long two days, she was going to bed.
Her head hit the pillow and she felt a sigh of relief. The headache that had been pounding into her brain since the night of the concert began to lessen, which gave her more time to process everything that had happened the past few days.
And what a crazy two days it had been.
Once the guys were safely escorted back to their tour bus, The security team took Jenn and Becca back to meet up with them again. When they got there, Mike and Matt were sitting in the main area of the bus, and motioned them to sit down.
Jenn sat down next to Mike and whistled. "Nice bus."
He laughed, "Thank you. It can get a little crowded, but it's fun."
Matt turned to Becca, who had ended up sitting next to him. "What do you think, Becca? Could you handle tour bus life?"
She looked around and nodded slightly, "Maybe, if I had to. I think I would enjoy the traveling more than the sleeping on a bus part though" she joked.
Ian re-entered the main room, and the playful conversation continued for at least another twenty minutes, and Becca noted that the obnoxious front man had yet to make an appearance.
Everyone stopped talking when they heard a commotion outside the door, and Becca immediately recognized Josh's voice. "Johnathan… Johnathan, don't do this. This isn't a good idea and-"
The tour bus door opened, and the man who had introduced the band earlier looked around the room.
“You” he pointed at Becca. “You write?”
“Yes?” She answered, somewhat perplexed by the determined look on his face.
“Want a job with this band?”
Becca’s mouth dropped open. “What?”
Matt cut in. “We’ve been needing a writer for our webpage and tour blog. Since you write young adult fiction, I figured you would know how to really reach the fans on their level. So I asked Johnathan if we could hire you.”
“Really? No interview or anything? She could be some secret psycho stalker for all of we know” Josh quipped. She glared at him, but he kept his eyes locked on where Simkin was standing.
“Don’t be an asshole, Josh.” Simkin retorted, saving Becca from having to respond. “My niece is a huge fan of her books, I’m familiar with her work. Anyways, if you want the job it is yours. Call me by November first and we can set up the details.” Without waiting for an answer, he stepped off the bus.
