TW: Spiders
Type: Idk?? Angst and fluff maybe??
Zander stood midway between the living room and the kitchen of his and Luke's small apartment. He rested his head against the doorway he stood between, eyeing the auburn haired male stood in the kitchen, prepping up something for dinner.
Zander smiled at him before hearing the familiar buzzing sound the house often gave off. It wasn't in perfect condition, the walls had the occasional crooks and cracks in them, and the paint on the very doorway that Zander was stood between was peeling off. He picked it, feeling the crisp of the dry paint cracking as he pulled it off, dropping it to the ground. He grimaced, not loving the poor condition the house was in.
"This house is falling to pieces." He muttered, motioning his head towards the flaky white paint.
Luke stopped what he was doing and came over to where Zander was, examining the paint he was referring to. "Yeah... It's not a great place, eh?"
Zander sighed, "It's fine. I know you're working hard to get us a new one." He smiled slightly at the brunette, "I just feel guilty that I can't do anything to help."
Luke smiled back, putting an arm around his boyfriend, "It's fine, really. You don't need to do anything, I don't mind."
"Yeah, but still."
Zander turned his gaze away from Luke's firey golden eyes and scanned the room. It wasn't that bad looking from afar, but if you went up close, you could see the damage. He started noticing a lot more cracks in the walls as he looked, then he saw something.
His heart stopped and his eyes went wide. He gripped Luke and hid behind him, "LUKE THERE'S A SPIDER!!" He yelled, startling Luke.
"What? Where?" The drummer looked back at Zander to see what he meant.
"THERE!" The mauve haired male pointed his finger in the direction of a large, black spider coming from one of the cracks in the walls. "GET IT LUKE!"
Luke's eyes widened, he tried moving closer to the creature, but was pulled back by Zander's grip on him. "Zander, you have to let me go if you want me to get rid of it." He slightly chuckled.
In Zander's eyes, the spider was massive, but in Luke's, or any other normal person's, it was average size, maybe a tiny bit bigger but nothing major.
The pianist hesitantly let go of Luke and ran into the living room, hiding himself with the cushions the couch provided. "QUICK!!" He shouted, his voice slightly muffled from the cushions.
Luke walked up to the spider, ignoring Zander's overdramatic screams in the background, and grabbed a cup and paper towel. He couldn't kill the spider, as much as Zander would've wanted him to, because Luke wasn't that type of person. He wasn't bothered at all by the small creature, unlike his boyfriend.
He quickly put the cup down against the wall, aiming for the spider but unfortunately missed. "Shoot." He muttered, watching as the spider quickly scattered across the walls.
Luke quickly turned his head around to look at Zander who was now whimpering under the cushions of the couch like a baby. Luke sighed in relief, knowing Zander hadn't seen the spider escape.
He turned his head back to where the spider was, but this time it wasn't there. He gasped, eyes wide. He turned his whole body around to face the next wall. Nothing. He started panicking, Zander would go ballistic if he couldn't find it.
He started cursing under his breath, darting his head around in all the directions of the kitchen. Not a spider in sight. Until he heard screams coming from the living room.
Oh god.
Luke turned himself to face the living room and ran in to find an absolutely petrified pianist on the edge of the couch, slamming his hand against it.
Luke ran up to him, "Where is it? Did you find it?" He asked, raising his voice so he could be heard through Zander's high-pitched screaming.
"THERE! ITS THERE GET IT OFF NOW!" The pianist shrieked, flapping his hand vigorously infront of the brunette's face. There on his hand was the dreaded spider, crawling around on his skin. This was one of Zander's very worst nightmares. "LUKE GET. IT. OFF. NOW."
Luke panicked, quickly grabbing the cup. He tried cupping the spider there on Zander's hand, but it was no use, it only made the spider crawl faster, earning more screeches from the grape. "LUKE GET IT OFF YOU IDIOT!!" He cried, small tears becoming visible in the corners of his eyes. He really was scared of spiders.
Luke breathed in deeply, "Ok, hold on I'm going to squash it, ok?" He reached out to Zander and grabbed his hand where the spider was. He squinted his eyes shut once locating it because he couldn't watch himself kill something. Luke was a very sentimental person. He pressed his thumb down on the spider, smushing it into Zander's skin.
"EWWW!" Zander squealed in disgust. Luke removed his hand from Zander's and looked at what he'd done. He slightly grimaced at the squashed black mark on the back of Zander's hand.
"There, it's dead now." Although that wasn't what Luke had exactly planned on, he had to get rid of it, otherwise Zander's screaming would only get worse and he'd end up in full tears.
"EW." Zander gagged slightly, holding his hand infront of Luke, implying he wanted him to remove the dead spider from him.
Luke sighed, rolling his eyes sarcastically, "Ok, I'll go grab a piece of tissue." He ran off into the kitchen and soon returned with a tissue, scooping the dead spider from Zander's hand. "There, it's gone now baby." He said in a more reassuring tone.
Zander opened his squinting eyes and looked down at his hand, still disgusted. "I'm going to wash my hands thoroughly now." He said between breathes, still a disgusted look spread across his face. He quickly hopped of the couch and ran into the kitchen, being careful not to touch anything on the way.
Luke sighed with relief, following Zander into the kitchen and discarding the tissue and spider into the trash. He too also washed his hands after, for Zander's sake and then they both went into the living room again.
They both sat down on the couch, Zander still looked uneasy. "You ok now, sweetie?" Luke asked, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend. "I know these things scare you, baby. I know."
Zander exhaled a shaky sigh, leaning into Luke's touch, "Yeah, I'm ok now. Thanks for getting rid of it, Luke." He gave a small smile before giving Luke a gentle kiss on the lips.
"You're very welcome. I hate to see you so petrified of something." The brunette rubbed Zander's back comfortingly before planting a gentle kiss against his forehead.
"I hate my arachnophobia..." Zander grumbled, leaning his head on Luke's shoulder. "I wish I wasn't so scared of the disgusting creatures."
Luke gave a sad smile, pulling Zander close, "You can't help it, hon. It's just a phobia of yours."
"A stupid phobia." Zander scoffed.
Luke kissed Zander's cheek, "Well, it's gone now, so we can just enjoy the rest of our night, eh? I'll go continue making dinner." He was about to get up off the couch before getting stopped by Zander once again.
"No." He mumbled, blushing slightly. He leaned into Luke, nuzzling him. "Stay. I'm still a little on edge..."
Luke sighed, smiling. "Ok." He replied, his voice hushed into a whisper. He got comfortable and wrapped his arms around the smaller male and kissed the back of his head, the familiar smell of lavender trickled up his nostrils, the smell he always loved.
Zander leant into Luke, feeling his warm body heat as it radiated off of him. He wrapped his arms around Luke, their bodies becoming entangled with one another as they just sat there on the couch in eachother's embrace.
