*Jade's POV*

I push past the crowd of people, slithering my way to the gates blocking off the stage, cameras, and dressing rooms.

Julians dressing room.

"Hey! I need to get over there!" I call out, pointing and looking at a security guard.

"No can do, ma'am. You're gonna have to stay behind the gates." The tall, older-looking man says.

"You don't understand," a breathless laugh escapes my mouth, "I need to get past." The man looks me over, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, so does every one else who wants to see Barley, now either go back with whoever your with and wait for midnight, or go home." The guy rolls his eyes, waving me off and walking away. I groan, gripping the metal and pausing to think.

A light bulb goes off in my mind and my head perks up. I look around before pushing myself up and hopping over the gate, sprinting over to the dressing rooms and past the stage. I hear shouting but ignore it, looking at the small buildings in front of me, trying to tell which one is Julie's.

One of them has a purple door, the other one has a rainbow welcome mat, another has a fake-plant in front, and the last one has a familiar man knocking on the door, holding two boxes.

"Leo!" The middle-aged man whips around, so do the security guards.

"Oh caro!..aren't you Julians lady-friend?" I gulp, glancing at the security guards between us.

"It's a long story-" He begins to turn away back to the door but I wave my arms, stammering. "I am! Could I join you? Are you giving him some food from your shop?" He hesitate, but nods, a smile now on his thin lips.

"Come, bella." I walk up a step until one of the guards steps in front of me, "Oh, pshh, let her through." They slowly move, letting me through and up the stairs till I'm standing with Leo at the door.

Leo knocks again and we hear a muffled, "come in!"

I nod for him to open the door but he pauses, looking at me and then at his boxes. "You know what? Since you're here, I will give these to you and you can give them to him. I should be with my family, I've seen him everyday since wednesday so, he'll be okay. Bene? Okay. Nice to see you, giada." Leo kisses my cheek and pushes the boxes in my hand before skipping down the steps, leaving me alone.

I sigh and slowly creak the door open, Julians sitting on a small couch on his phone and I tighten my grip on the desserts, worried I may drop them. His shirts unbuttoned, showing off his abs, his hair is perfectly styled in a swoop that falls over his forehead, he has silver glitter on his eyes and a white star on his upper-cheek. The newest nike shoes on the floor next to him and ripped white pants that match his blue button-up.

He looks... amazing.

The door shuts behind me, making me jump. Julian thankfully stays in his same position, scrolling on snapchat and lounging on the couch, he looks painfully bored.

"Hey, Leo, you can set the stuff down on the counter, or stay if you want. It's pretty boring in here and I have 30....minutes....le- left." His words trail to a stop as he slowly looks up at me and I shrug, pushing my hands out and squeezing one eye shut as he gets up and marches in front of me. "What the fuck are you doing here?"

"Okay, okay. I know you hate me and we were fighting, blablabla. I need to talk with you-" he suddenly grabs the food out of my hand and spins me around, pushing me out the door by my shoulders. He opens the door and pushes me, I turn to look at him, opening my mouth but he cuts me off before I can say anything.

"Jade, stop fucking torturing me. Please leave me alone." He has a sad look in his black eyes and I frown.

"I'm sorry- hey! Wait! No, Julian, listen to me. This is life or death!" He laughs and I ignore him, "my boss is gonna send someone else to kill you, and I think it's gonna be when you get on stage. Please, dont." He scoffs.

"Like i'd believe you! What, steve is gonna shoot me in front of thousands of people and on live television? Mindy, the girl in HR? Jeremy in accounting?" he scoffs," leave, jade." He points behind me, looking at the floor.

"I'm serious! Julian, you need to-" he slams the door in my face and I stand there for a few minutes, stunned.

What am i gonna do now?

"Miss, you can't be here." I turn at the deep voice and brush myself off, walking to the steps. "Thank you, miss." I look at the mans face and feel my stomach drop.

"Lando?" I recognize my old coworker and frantically look at the rest of the guards. "Tommy? Frankie? Layla? What the fuck?" I look before me at all my old friends and feel my heart begin to race. They keep their heads down, I notice Layla fidgeting and Frankie gulps.

Tommy, the youngest of the bunch and one of my old closest friends, rubs his face and sighs, "Shitshitshit. Jade," he turns to face me, "just- you can't-" I scoff and jump down the remaining steps, turning around again and slowly walking backwards.

"I can't deal with this right now." I take a deep breath and turn away, running down the path and back into the crowd. I realize every security member is someone familiar, and the pit in my stomach gets deeper and deeper until-

"I need to get to the bathrooms or I'm gonna barf all over y'all! Yes, the baby too." I point at a mother blocking my path while cradling her baby. Everyone around me murmurs and moves out of the way, and I speed to the outdoor restrooms they've set up. I burst through one of the stalls and empty out my stomach, tears falling at the same time.

After minutes of vomiting, I slide down the stall walls and cradle my knees, shaking. Thoughts race to and from my mind so quick I wonder how I am even functioning.

Why would Eli do this?

Is that why he gave me Julians present?

Because Julian wouldn't be alive to give it to me.

He didn't have it anyways though.

Why didn't Pierre tell me anything about tonight?

Is any of the police or security real?

Where is Elijah?

Are they going to do it at midnight?

Oh my god, they're going to do it at midnight.

I shoot back up, trembling as I frantically unlock the stall door and wash my hands.

Julian will die tonight.

I look in the mirror, noticing my pale skin and purple eye-bags. I splash some hot water on my cheeks and push my hair back into a high ponytail.

I need to stop this.

I speed-walk out the door and quickly check my phone for the time, twenty-five minutes till midnight.

i can work with that.
