The next few weeks were full of dreadful and boring school work.
I felt like I was drowning in homework and I needed a break, we all did. That's exactly why at this exact moment, Ari was dragging all of us out to some lake house for the weekend.
"This is gonna be so much fun!" Ari yells as she hops in the car, the rest of us piling in.
I got smushed in between Joshua and Hoseok and of course, I was not too happy about that. The ride to this lake house was gonna be a somewhat long one and the last thing I wanted was to be seated next to Joshua the whole time.
"Damn right it will!" Joshua grins as he nudges my shoulder slightly, instantly causing me to shift away and into Hoseok.
Hoseok didn't say anything thankfully. Instead he just let me do so even though it was taking up his personal space.
Pretty much the whole car ride to the lake house was filled with Ari and Mingyu singing, Joshua being annoying, and Hoseok and I making small talk.
Before I knew it, we were there.
"Finally." I say as I hurry out of the car, excited to be away from Joshua and even more excited to stretch out my cramped up legs.
"There's only three rooms here so we'll have to get that figured out but for now, let's drink!" Ari cheers as she runs inside, not even bothering to grab her things.
As I wondered about the room situation, I grabbed my bags and hauled them inside, glad I packed light. We'd only be here for three days and two nights so no need to go crazy.
Once all of us were inside, I took a seat on one of the couches as I watched everyone moving about getting settled in. Well, besides Ari who was already making herself a drink.
"They're giving me my own room. I think Mingyu said something about you and Ari sharing and then him and Joshua." Hoseok says as he joins me on the couch.
"Okay that works." I say, instantly grateful that Joshua hadn't tried to weasel his way into rooming with me. That was the last thing I wanted.
"Do you plan to drink?" Hoseok then asks as he looks over at me before he leans back into the couch.
"Probably a little but nothing too crazy." I say and he nods slowly.
"What about you?" I ask and he shakes his head. "No I don't think so. Not really feeling it." He says.
"Understandable. Do you usually not drink?" I ask, feeling genuinely curious.
"I do but not too often. I'd consider myself a lightweight so I just tend not to drink much. It's not really my thing." He says and right away, I respected that.
Drinking wasn't for everyone and that was okay. Personally, I liked to be sober rather then shit faced too so I saw where he was coming from.
"Here!" Ari says, interrupting our conversation as she pushes a cup in front of my face.
Right away I could smell how strong it was. "Damn, did you pour the whole bottle in here?" I ask but she simply grins as she turns on her heels and heads back towards the kitchen.
I could see Hoseok watching me as I took a sip, my nose instantly scrunching up in disgust as I was right. This was like 90% alcohol and 10% chaser.
"Too much?" He asks with a slight laugh. "Definitely too much." I confirm as I set the cup down, knowing I wouldn't drink it.
After a bit, everyone gathered in the living room, drinking and talking about random stuff. At this point, we were all a bit buzzed, besides Hoseok of course.
