"Alright class, quiet down!" My homeroom teacher says, her voice loud enough to overpower all of the noisy students.
"Always ruining all the fun." My best friend Ari says as she leans back in her chair, kicking her feet up onto the desk.
I laugh as I sit back in my seat, turning my attention to the teacher just as she began to speak again, a random guy standing at her side.
"We have a new student joining us today. This is Jung Hoseok! He transferred here from Korea and will be joining our class for the remainder of the year."
My eyes fell back onto the guy beside her as I scanned his face. Instantly, I noticed how attractive he was. To anyone it was blatantly obvious.
"Damn he's hot." Ari says out loud as if saying what everyone else was thinking. A few of the other students laugh as the guy now named Hoseok seems to shift in his spot, probably uncomfortable.
Ari was always pretty straight forward, that's why we were best friends. When we had first met she came up to me, telling me my new bangs were hideous. Of course we fought but once that was done and over with, we became best friends.
"Take a seat wherever you'd like." The teacher says and I look around, realizing the only empty seats were the ones beside Ari and by the really weird kid in class, Tom. No one liked Tom.
Making the obvious choice, the new guy reluctantly took a seat in the empty spot by Ari. Right away, Ari went full questions mode.
"So you just moved here huh? How old are you? Do you speak fluent English? Want to be friends? Though we come as a package deal." Ari says as she leans into me.
Hoseok looked scared which was understandable. Ari could be a lot sometimes, especially if you didn't know her like that.
"Sorry about her, she gets excited." I laugh as I smack Ari's head, causing her to move off of me with a frown.
"It's okay. Some of my friends back home are the same way." Hoseok says which causes Ari to hop back into the conversation.
"Are they hot? Are they switching here too?"
I couldn't help but to laugh as I saw Hoseok shift over slightly. I could tell right away that he was much more shy and reserved then Ari and I.
"Hey Ari, come here a second would ya!" One of our classmates call out, waving her over. Without a second thought, Ari hopped up, dashing in their direction.
"She's psycho, I'm sorry. You must think we're annoying." I laugh as I glance over at Hoseok who was shuffling through a stack of papers.
From what I could see they looked like his class schedule and some other school papers from transferring.
"No not at all. Like I said, I'm use to the crazy straightforward stuff. I don't think you're annoying at all." He says, turning his head to look at me.
"Well good, I'm glad. If you're not completely opposed to the idea, We could be your first friends here." I say, sending a funny grin in his direction.
Hoseok laughed as he nodded his head. "Yeah I'd like that. Although Ari might be a bit much at first." He says and right away I wave my hand.
"No I get it. Once she calms down you'll come to like her, trust me. It's just because you're fresh meat as she'd say." I laugh and Hoseok nods but doesn't say anything.
"Alright I'm back! A little chit chat going on I see. Whatcha talking about? Are we all friends now?" Ari asks, wiggling her eyebrows as she leans in closer to Hoseok.
I see Hoseok peer over at me past her shoulder before he looks back at Ari and smiles. "We sure are." He says and I couldn't help but to grin as Ari clapped her hands together.
"Wonderful!"
-
Once class finally ended, I watched as Hoseok scurried off without a word."He seems fun! It'll be a grand time corrupting him! Soon he'll be just like us." Ari smirks as she slings her bag over her shoulder.
"Yeah maybe not. He seems a little scared of you." I laugh and Ari turns to me, her face becoming serious.
"Good. He should fear me." She cracks a smile instantly, the both of us laughing. We both knew Ari was no real harm. Maybe verbally but that was about it.
"Well let's get out of here! No need to stay in school longer then necessary." Ari says as she hurries on ahead of me.
I grab my things and make my way out of the classroom. I place my things into my locker then meet back up with Ari.
"Where are we going today? Hanging out with Mingyu or what?" I ask and Ari smiles right away at the mention of her guy best friend aka crush aka soon to be boyfriend.
At this point I wasn't even sure. The two of them had been back and forth for years but hadn't actually dated. They always flirted with each other though. Whatever it was, not my business.
"Yeah but I wanted to see if Joshua wanted to hang out." She says as she grins. Instantly, I object.
"No way! Why the hell would I want to hang out with him?" I ask, unsure of why Ari would even bring it up knowing our past.
"Who cares if you two hooked up?! You said it was good, no? Why not give it another try." Ari says but I'm fast to shut it down.
"Definitely not. You can go without me." I say and when Ari tries to argue with me I change the subject.
"I'm sure you'll enjoy some alone time with Mingyu. I have to pick up a few things from the store anyway. Have fun!" I call out as I turn and walk away, ignoring Ari's calls from behind me.
With that I head out, Ari's words jumbled in my mind. The mention of Joshua had me bothered. From what Ari knew, we just hooked up no big deal but it was more then just that.
I hadn't told Ari the full story because I didn't want to ruin anything between her and Mingyu. The last thing I wanted to do was ruin our friendship over some stupid guys.
Letting the thought slip away, I head home.
Today=shit.
