The horses lounged around the field for two more days. Playing tag, racing each other, eating, talking and drinking the clean cool water. Cobalt got very good at the tag game, most of the time it was him and Stardust who were the last two standing when the others quit do to fatigue. Sometimes Cobalt would let Stardust win and sometimes the game would go on for hours before they called it a tie. Cobalt seemed to be back on Stardust's good side again. Sometimes the two horses would be found sleeping side by side or grooming each other. Stardust would still dot over Buckshot but less and less now. Stardust though never forgot about her friend now that Cobalt was back with her. They would take long trail rides near the field but never straying to far from the safety of the field. Cobalt and Buckshot still were wary with each other. They were never going to be friends, they always ignored the other one and always stayed on the opposite sides of the field. In tag they would never tag each other, they would always go for one of the two girls.
As they were gearing up to continue their journey, Buckshot dropped a bomb. He said that it was now time for him to carry on travelling on his own and that he would not becoming with them. The news was relieving for Cobalt, he would no longer have to deal with this arrogant self centered horse. Stardust took the news hard. She asked if it was Cobalt and that if it was she would send him packing. Buckshot said that it was not, that it was too hard to be around someone from his old life. Being near her made his worst memories come back. Cobalt was shocked that Stardust would send him packing for this horse ready for the glue factory.
Stardust pleaded with Buckshot to stay but he would have none of it and he started to trot away from them. Stardust watched him go whinning for him to stay. Buckshot ignored her. Great way to treat a girl, especially one this amazing thought Cobalt. As soon as Buckshot was out of sight, Stardust galloped in the other direction. Cobalt and Honeysuckle stood still for a moment, wondering if they should go after her. Honeysuckle started to chase after her but Cobalt stood right in front of her and would not let her pass. Let her cool down first Cobalt said. Cobalt and Honeysuckle stayed on the half of the field where Buckshot had left. They started grazing and once two hours passed Honeysuckle went to go find Stardust. A few seconds later Honeysuckle came galloping back with Stardust was on her tail. Stardust had her ears back and her teeth bared.
Once Honeysuckle was passed the imaginary line that divided the field in half, Stardust stopped chasing Honeysuckle and turned back the way she had came. Cobalt decided to wait a couple more hours before going to check up on her. Cobalt went to stand under a tree to get some shade and to have a little nap. When he woke up he would go and check up on her. Stardust was angry at Buckshot for leaving but more sad that he never wanted to see her because she brought back bad memories. She was mad at the world, so when Honeysuckle came over to check up on her, she just lashed out at her because she felt helpless. Cobalt came over the line and stopped a few steps after the line she raced over and bit him. Cobalt walked back over the line and stopped. Stardust trotted back to the trees where she was out of sight.
Cobalt trotted past the line and stopped. He waited for Stardust to come back and snap at him. She did not return. Cobalt grazed for a bit, After awhile of grazing he took another 6 steps forward. Over the next couple of hours, Cobalt slowly inched forward to where Stardust was. Stardust could finally see Cobalt, galloped towards him and stopped in front of him. She bit him on the neck but he stayed as still as a statue. Stardust then kick him repeatedly in the barrel. Cobalt did not move a muscule. He just soaked up the pain from the kicks. Finally Stardust got bored with him and knew that he would not leave. She went back into the trees and hoped he would get the hint that she wanted to be left alone.
It was sunset before Cobalt was just a few feet away from her. He cautiously walked over and nuzzled her. Once he had done that he quickly backed up. Stardust did not respond to the nuzzle so Cobalt did it again this time though he backed up slower than the last time. Finally Cobalt walked right next to her and nuzzled her. Stardust nuzzled back. The two horses stood side by side in silence. Stardust slowly leaned into Cobalt's side. Cobalt took the extra weight and balenced himself accrodingly. Cobalt slowly nuzzled her and Stardust started talking about she felt. An hour later, Stardust was still leaning into Cobalt but she was asleep now. Cobalt did not want to move a muscule incase incase that made her fall and wake up. In the still quiet night, Cobalt got to thinking about Stardust. How would life be when she found her owner? Would he have to leave without her? Would Stardust's owner want to keep him? Would she sell him because she had two horses now? If she kept him would she train him to be ridden?
Before Cobalt went to sleep he looked over at Stardust and came to the conclusion that no matter what he would still try and be there for her. He also knew that she was the one he wanted and that he loved her with all his heart. Even if they had just known each other for a couple of days. With that Cobalt feel asleep, Stardust still leaning on him as if he was her life jacket and she was drowning.

QOTD: What is your favorite breakfeast food?
I really do not like breakfeast but if I had to choose mine would be my grandmother's homemade Black Forest cake. ( i do not get it often and i know it is unhealthy for breakfeast but it is so good the next day) I also really like hashbrowns too for breakfeast.
