"Sevyn, today's the day," Kal and Nya coming into my room.
"And why it gotta be today?" I sighed, dragging myself out of bed. I stumbled into my closet, searching for something to wear.
"It was the day we all picked before everything," Kal said, taking a seat on my bed.
Today was the grand opening of our store. It wasn't anything crazy, just us welcoming people with food, and music, and a few clients booked for appointments with me.
"It's crazy it's been two weeks. He should be here to see this," I muttered, shaking my head as I pulled on my black Skims cotton rib tank catsuit and a cropped puffer jacket, slipping on shoes to match.
"Yeah," Nya agreed, her voice tinged with sadness. "He's still here, though."
"Never forget that," Kal added, smiling and petting Astro.
"But it ain't the same, though," I said, heading to the kitchen to make sure Astro had enough food and water in his bowl for the time I'd be gone.
As I finished getting ready and grabbing my things. Kal and Nya were waiting by the door. "You ready to do this?" Kal asked.
"Ready as I will ever be," I said giving a tight lipped smile.
When we arrived at the boutique, everyone was busy with last-minute preparations. The place smelled of fresh flowers and food from the catering setup. I could hear people talking and laughing as our friends and family gathered outside.
