"FUCKKKKK CASHIMIR!" Sev screamed, squeezing the hell outta my hand like she was damn near tryna break it. "Look what yo ass did to me!" She cried, riding out another contraction. The epidural musta been on lunch break or something cause she got that shit like thirty minutes ago.

"My bad, baby," I said, trying to smile through her pain, leaning down to kiss her forehead. "I love you"

"It's all your fault!" she said trying to breathe,  "You did that voodoo magic shit and got me carrying fucking twins" She shook her head, looking like she was ready to curse my whole bloodline.

"Aye, but I get two lil girls outta it," I said, doing a quick lil two-step right there in the delivery room.

"Yo ass really wanted some girls and twins that bad huh," she groaned, rolling her eyes even though I could see a small smile trying to sneak through her pain.

"Hell yeah," I said, leaning in close to her. "Two mini versions of yo ass? I can't fucking wait." I said dead serious.

She tried to laugh, but it came out more like a grunt as another contraction hit. I could see the tension all through her body, the way she clenched her jaw, her fingers digging into the bed rail like it was a lifeline.

"Just breathe, Sev," I whispered, rubbing her back, tryna keep her calm even though I could feel the tension building in the room. Right then, my mama walked in, carrying a tray of food and a cup of ice for Sev.

"How long y'all been at it?" she asked, setting down the stuff on the table.

"We been here since last night," I said.
