"And you're free to go home," the doctor said, coming up to me and handing me the release form.

"Finally, damn near two weeks in this bitch," I muttered, signing the paper.

The doctor chuckled, "Just take it easy, Cashimir. No overexerting yourself."

"Yeah, yeah, I hear you," I said, ready to get out of the hospital gown and back into my own clothes.

Sev walked in just as I finished signing, a smile on her face. "Ready to go?"

"More than yo ass can fucking imagine," I replied, pulling her into a hug.

She laughed, handing me a bag with some fresh clothes. "Here, got you some clothes from the house."

"Thanks, bae," I said, kissing her cheek before heading to the bathroom to change.

When I came back out, dressed in my favorite hoodie and jeans, Sev was grabbing the last of my things before we headed out.

"Lemme drive," I said, taking the keys from her.

"Um, is that safe?" she questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Why the fuck would it not be safe?" I squinted my eyes at her.

"Well, I don't know, Mir, maybe 'cause you kinda finessed death a couple of months ago," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Ain't 'boutta bitch, we cool," I said, starting the car and driving off.

"I ain't trying to be the next one to go," she mumbled under her breath.
