There are some known and popular rumors going around about the Stark family.
One rumor someone created was that Pepper was actually Carrie's biological mother but put her up for adoption when she was a baby then took her back when she found her. The reason people think this is because they, in their opinion, think Pepper and Carrie look alike, which they both think is ridiculous. Another version of it is that they're actually long lost sisters, which was pretty silly actually.
Second rumor is that people said that Carrie is actually Tony's biological daughter from a one night stand from another woman he slept with years ago and he was so ashamed of it that he tried to pass it off as his adopted daughter. Which was just absolutely bogus and was already debunked immediately with proof that the rumor is false. Tony isn't gonna lie, this one kinda hurt him a little.
This third rumor is actually hurtful, it was said that Tony only adopted Carrie to make his image look better, which is entirely absurd and totally untrue because he adopted her because he found out how terrible her life was and how badly she was treated all of her 16 years of life, so he took her in to give her a better life with support and love from parental figures that she always needed. Carrie had confirmed that the rumor wasn't true and debunked it herself, she got emotional while doing it because she took that rumor real personal and it also hurt her alot.
The last two rumors were obviously made up by some people who hated Tony Stark and wanted to find ways to make him look like a genuinely terrible person with no heart and they actually don't even care about Carrie like they think they do when they're actually just using her to further their own ideas and agenda about Tony Stark that they made up their heads out of hatred for him.
There are some rumors that are actually pretty laughable and easy to ignore or make fun of, but some like the last two rumors can be way over the top and hurtful. Tony wasn't perfect at all but he would never do anything like what the last two rumors said about him and having him for a father, Carrie can confirm that, without hesitation, that he's literally the best father she's ever had.
