Steve most of the time feels the need to be protective over Carrie, especially during a dangerous battle on a mission. It's not that she can't handle herself, it's because she's still younger than the rest of the team and while yes she does have telekinetic powers, he still does worry about her safety and doesn't always agree that she should come with the team all the time depending on how dangerous the mission is.
