It was the day of the first task and Cassie had been searching for Harry all morning. She searched for him when she walking to breakfast, she searched for him when she was at breakfast, and now she was leaving the Great Hall and she was still searching for Harry. Fortunately for her, when she turned a corner, she saw Harry walking down to the courtyard, already in his uniform for the first task.

"Potter!" Cassie called out, running to catch up with Harry who paused to let her catch up.

"What are you doing here?" Harry asked as they continued walking.

"Er, I don't know," Cassie muttered. "S'pose I wanted to wish you some good luck,"

Harry raised his eyebrows, a smirk playing on his lips. "What was that? Cassie Malfoy wishing Harry Potter some good luck? It must be the end of the world,"

"Shut up," Cassie rolled her eyes. "Anyway, did you master the spell?"

"Mhm,"

"That's good," Cassie nodded as an awkward silence fell between the two. "Good luck, Potter. I'm going to get going, I hope the dragon eats you,"

Harry rolled his eyes at her, smiling as he watched the girl disappear as she turned a corner. He was getting too used to Cassie's presence like it was the most normal thing in the world and this didn't settle right with him. Quickly wiping the smile off his face, he walked away.

---

Cassie was feeling a little nervous. She wasn't even in the tournament but she still felt nervous. With her boots thumping loudly on the path, she pulled on her coat a little tighter as the November wind blew, the beret her mother had gifted her was sitting neatly on top of her head and her signature bangs were attached to her forehead, not moving a bit.

"Blimey, it's freezing," Pansy muttered from beside Cassie.

"Well, it is November," Cassie muttered.

"I heard from my mother that we're having this ball," Daphne spoke up, walking alongside the two girls.

"Yep," Pansy grinned. "Mum even already sent the money for me to go dress shopping,"

"You're going dress shopping? I want to go too!" Daphne whined. "Mother says she's going to send the dress,"

"My mother's going to deliver my dress too," Cassie spoke, looking down at her boots.

As the Slytherins neared the stands, there was cheering and chanting everywhere. People were placing bets and shouting out the name of the champions as the girls walked up to where their friends were sitting.

"Oh look, we're matching," Draco smirked, holding out his hands for Cassie to see.

He was wearing a pair of leather gloves, identical to the ones Cassie was wearing, they were yet again, another item gifted to them by their mother.

Pansy rolled her eyes. "How extra,"

"Hey!"

"Hey!"

"They're the Malfoys," Blaise rolled his eyes amusingly. "Everything about them is extra,"

"It's cold, okay?" Cassie defended.

"Geez Cass, we're at a tournament, not a bloody funeral," Theo smirked.

"Wait, he's kinda right," Pansy said, her eyes scanning Cassie from head to toe.

"Whatever, I did not come to this tournament for you lot to insult my choice of clothing," Cassie rolled her eyes as she seated herself down in between Pansy and Theo. "At least I look better than you guys,"

"Shush, it's starting," Daphne whisper-yelled at them as the crowd silenced down.

"Our first and foremost champion, Cedric Diggory!" The voice of Hogwart's headmaster boomed through the stadium followed by the loud blow of a canon.

The crowd roared as they began chanting his name. Cassie was excited to see how the champions would handle a freaking dragon. Cedric Diggory transfigured a rock into a dog -- which Cassie thought was a very smart move -- to lure the dragon away as he easily obtained the egg. Fleur Delacour had been second and Cassie had been waiting to see how Fleur would do it. She could bet that Fleur would handle it without making any big mess and just like she had expected, Fleur enchanted the dragon to sleep, easily obtaining the egg and she did all this in a bloody skirt. Viktor Krum came third as he used the Conjunctivitis Curse to blind the dragon temporarily as he got the egg, getting out with a few scratches.

"The fourth and final champion, Harry Potter!"

This was the one Cassie had been waiting for, sure, she knew exactly what Harry was going to do, but she still felt excited and a little nervous. As Harry got out of the safe zone and onto the rocky pit, the dragon did not waste a second as it smashed its tail towards Harry who barely escaped. The crowd screamed as they flinched away, with each smash, the ground seemed to shake beneath them. Cassie winced as she watched Harry get tossed around as if he were some ragdoll. Cassie could see Harry shoot out his wand, shooting out a spell that went unheard by the crowd. As Harry dodged a few more attacks from the dragon, he hid behind a large rock, shielding himself from the fire the dragon blew. Then, out of nowhere, a broomstick came zooming toward Harry as he hopped onto it as the crowd cheered. The dragon roared in exasperation at not being able to catch Harry as it tried to fly after Harry but the chains held it back. This annoyed the dragon even further as the dragon tried harder to fly away and the chains gave in. Everybody gasped as the dragon fled after Harry who had flown out of the stadium. It had been quiet after both the dragon and Harry and flown out.

"Er, so what now? Do we just stare at the rocks?" Blaise deadpanned.

"Nooo," Pansy groaned. "The game was getting good,"

"Did you see how many times he missed the bloody egg?" Draco rolled his eyes.

"It's as if you can do any better," Theo replied. "Didn't you like lose every match against him?"

"Shut up, he probably cheated,"

"When are they coming back?" Blaise looked around impatiently. "Is Potter dead or something?"

The crowd had begun to get bored as they broke out into chatters. The professors were talking to each other frantically. Everyone waited for about half an hour, some were even about to leave before Harry had zoomed back into the stadium with so much speed it took everyone a second to process that Harry was back before erupting into cheers, even Cassie couldn't help but cheer. Harry had probably gotten rid of the dragon somewhere as he flew towards the egg, grabbing it before holding it up as the crowd went wild.
