It had been a week after the first task and they were now in December. The Slytherins all sat in the common room, on the green couches by the fire. Theo sat alone in a single armchair, with his eyes glued to a book while Draco sat across from him, in another armchair, playing wizard chess with Blaise who was seated on the carpeted floor. On a larger couch, sat Cassie and Daphne on each end as Pansy lay in the middle, her head on Daphne's lap with her feet on Cassie's lap.

"I'm kind of excited for this ball," Pansy spoke, staring at her nails. "Who are you guys taking?"

"Can't we go alone?" Daphne asked, playing with Pansy's hair.

"Wouldn't that make you look lonely?" Blaise questioned, looking up from the chessboard.

"Nah, that'd make me look cool," Daphne replied with a grin.

"If you say so," Blaise muttered before turning back to the chessboard just in time to find Draco trying to move a piece. "Oi, you prick! That's cheating,"

"Anyway," Pansy looked over to Cassie who was staring out of the window into the depths of the lake, lost in her own world. "Cass?"

Cassie blinked, looking away from a creature that just swam past the window, she turned to Pansy. "Hm?"

"Could you please get me some dark chocolate from the kitchens?" Pansy pleaded, dragging the 'please' a little longer. "Please? I'm really craving it,"

Cassie pondered for a minute. "What's in it for me?"

Pansy rolled her eyes. "I'll do your homework for the day,"

"A day?" Cassie raised an eyebrow.

"Fine, two days,"

Seeing the look on Cassie's face, Pansy rolled her eyes before sighing out. "Alright, three days,"

Cassie grinned, nodding before standing up. "Deal,"

As Cassie grabbed her cloak, she slipped out of the common room and onto the kitchens. It was really chilly, Cassie really needed to learn the warming charm. As she approached the kitchens, she heard some chatters coming from there. Slowly, Cassie opened the door and stepped inside, immediately greeted by the warm atmosphere, the warm air smelled like baked goods and cinnamon.

"Is that Miss Malfoy?"

Cassie frowned, she's heard that voice before. At the mention of her, three heads turned around and Cassie couldn't really say she was shocked to see none other than Hogwart's golden trio.

"What are you doing here?" Ron spat, eyeing her suspiciously.

Cassie rolled her eyes. "Calm down, Weasley, stop looking at me like I'm about to stab you,"

"Oh, Miss Malfoy! Dobby is so delighted to see you here!" Dobby squealed excitedly. "What do you need, Miss? Dobby can get you anything,"

"Dobby?" Cassie furrowed her eyebrows confusedly.

Merlin, she had missed the elf. Dobby had practically raised Draco and Cassie. He would accompany them whenever their parents were busy. Dobby would find all sorts of ways to play with them, and sometimes, they would all have fun baking cakes and cookies in the kitchen. You can only imagine Draco and Cassie's disappointment when their father told them Dobby had somehow broken free with some socks or something, Cassie didn't remember much. All she remembered was that the days at the manor were much lonelier than before. Of course, she was happy the elf had escaped, her father didn't treat Dobby that good.

"Yes, Miss Malfoy, it's me, Dobby!" Dobby grinned at her.

"It's really great to see you here, Dobbs," Cassie smiled at the elf.
