Cassie sat on a stool in front of her dressing table as she stared at her reflection in the mirror whilst the maid fondled with her hair. Compared to last year, her face had matured a little more. Jet black hair that fell to her waist, porcelain skin without a single trace of color, and cold grey eyes identical to her brother's. Cassie often thought she looked ghostly.
"Done with your hair, Miss Malfoy," The maid spoke, stepping away.
"Thank you. You may leave," Cassie replied quietly, not looking back as the maid exited her room.
Cassie stood up, smoothing out her dress in the process as she exited her bedroom.
"Ah, there you are,"
The voice of her twin brother, Draco, spoke up as he too exited his bedroom.
"You're all dolled up too, I see," Draco sneered before letting out an exaggerated sigh. "I had to sit there for hours while they did my hair and it looks the same!"
"Quit being dramatic, Draco." Cassie rolled her eyes as the twins walked side by side down the stairs. "We do this almost every day."
"And it still gets exhausting. It's bloody insulting! It's as if mother thinks I don't look good without any of these potions in my hair!"
"You don't," Cassie reminded him, glancing at him sideways. "You'd look like a homeless bleached baboon."
Draco feigned an offended gasp. "How dare you! It's as if you look any better,"
"I do look better," Cassie reminded Draco again with a small smile on her lips. "Everyone knows I'm the better-looking twin,"
"No, you're not,"
"Yes, I am,"
"Not,"
"Am,"
"Not,"
"Am,"
"Not,"
Pureblood familes were expected to always look polished and ready. It was a way of portraying their social status and money. The Malfoys, of course, were no exception. Being one of the most prestigious pureblood familes, they were always drenched in the finest jewels and cloth.
Cassie paused when she spotted her parents talking in hushed voices, only did they cease when the couple noticed their children descending the stairs. Narcissa put on a smile as she swiftly walked across the room to greet her children.
"Cassiopeia dear," Narcissa's grin widened when she saw her daughter was wearing the outfit she had picked for her. "You look lovely as always, the dress suits you,"
"Thank you, mother," Cassie smiled, embracing her mother before walking over to where her father was.
"Come on, Draco," Lucius called over impatiently as Narcissa gave Draco one last hug. "We don't want to be late."
Cassie frowned. "Is mother not coming?"
"No," Lucius responded curtly. "Perhaps later, but not now,"
Once Draco came over to his father's side, Cassie and Draco each grabbed onto their father's arm as they apparated away.
---
"Only interact with the purebloods, understand?" Lucius reminded his two children as they pushed past the crowded place.
"Yes, father," Draco responded while Cassie gave a curt nod. Soon, they heard a familiar voice speaking from the bleachers above.
"Blimey dad, how far up are we?"
