"Do you want to see her?" Jungkook offered tentatively, watching his mom vibrate with anticipation.

She had gone ghostly pale and then bright pink, putting her hands to her cheeks.

"Yes! Yes, yes, yes. Where is she?" Soomin shouted, practically leaping in the air and bouncing up and down.

Jungkook looked to his left and jerked his head towards the door, beckoning with towards himself with one hand.

What he was not expecting was to get pushed out of the way by his mother as she barreled into the hall.

He watched in silence as Soomin came to a halt in front of her long lost love.

"I didn't know if you were-, oh, all these years have gone by," she whispered, hand to her chest.

She reached out, "Is it okay? Can I? Oh, Mina, you look exactly the same," Soomin murmured, with more tenderness in her voice than Jungkook thought he'd ever heard from anyone.

Mina nodded, pulling Soomin into her arms. They clung to each other like it was the last time.

"I can't believe after all these years I get to hold you again," Mina whispered, placing a tentative hand on the back of Soomin's head.

"If you ever let go, I'll never forgive you," Soomin smiled, laughing through tears that wouldn't stop.

After what felt like an hour of incredible emotion, and awkwardness for Jungkook, Soomin pulled back by only centimeters, putting her hands to Mina's cheeks.

"I have so much to tell you," Mina said softly, resting her hands over Soomin's and squeezing.

"I can't believe how beautiful you are, even still," she continued, much to Soomin's delight, "After all these years I've still never seen anyone as exquisite as you. God, it's like seeing art in motion," she grinned, cheeks bright.

"This is the best day of my life," Mina finished, wrapping her arms around Soomin once again.

Soomin was choking on her words, unable to get anything out.

"It's okay, Soo. I'm not going anywhere," Mina murmured, tenderly brushing Soomin's hair back, "We've got time."

Jungkook watched them for another few minutes before letting himself into the penthouse and starting dinner. He washed his hands and opened the fridge, making a disgruntled face when he found very little in the way of useful ingredients.

When he looked around the apartment, it seemed dusty and unused, like she hadn't really been there. He turned on all the lights and shuffled some things around while he waited for them to reappear.

It took a lot longer than he anticipated.

When they finally walked through the door, their arms were around each other, still holding on for dear life. It was like he was invisible to them. He didn't mind; he'd spent almost a year being invisible. More than anything, it warmed his heart that he could do something for them.

"Mom, do you want dinner?"

Soomin blinked at him, eyes blown out with bliss. She shook her head.

"No, baby. I'm good. Don't go anywhere though, okay?" She smiled, half-drunk with happiness.
