War seems to never end. It seems like war just continues. It continues with no end, with no slowing, and no mercy. There is never a real happy ending when it comes to war. Our land has been scared by wars. We have lost most of our land. Now we stand as a small kingdom named Unway. It is pronounced with an 'O' instead of a 'U'. It is the only home I have ever come to know. Ever since I was a baby, we have been involved with a war.
My mother calls me the hope of our kingdom. She calls me the only way out of this war zone. Up until now I have been safe. Then someone figured it out. They came to realize that I, myself, the princess was the key to this kingdom. Apparently without me, our land would fall. I was their spark of hope. I was there reason to keep fighting, to keep going on. I was their jewel. Someone noticed that I was important to our land, so they posed a threat against me. They threatened to kill me.
My father, the King, kept me up to date with my fighting skills. He knew a long time ago that I was the key. He wanted to make sure I was able to defend myself when the time came. When the threat was out there, they knew I had to be protected. They knew I needed to get away from this war. They decided that they needed to send me away, somewhere overseas.
My mother chose her parents, who I have never met before. I was to be sent to a family I have never even heard of before now. She sat me down the night I was to be flown to America. Tears streamed down her face. She embraced me in an engulfing hug. She petted my red, kinky curly hair. I cried along with her. She looked at me and wiped my tears. She smiled and said, "Shhh, now everything will be okay. This will all be over soon. Soon, I promise."
She rode with me to the airport where a plane waited for me. She walked with me up to the plane and kissed my forehead. I boarded and watched her out the window. As we started to take off a group of men in ski masks ran up and knocked her in the back of the head with a large gun. They pointed the gun at her and pulled the trigger. That was it. That was the last thing I remember of my mother. That was the very last moment I would ever remember about my mother. There was no future ahead with her in it. She was gone, out of my life forever. Who would have ever known that a single piece of metal could take someone's whole future away with a single pull of a trigger. Nothing could measure up to how shocked and angry I was.
I noticed I was hugging the window. I was screaming at the top of my lungs. I looked around, tears rolling down my hot red face. Men in black were sitting in the chairs around me. I stood up and ran for the nearest door. All I could think about was that I wanted revenge. I was ready to jump out of an air lifted plane to avenge my mother. I was about to open the exit door when something sharp ventured down in my vain. The last thing I thought about before I blacked out was that I had just witnessed my mother's murder. I had just seen my mother die. That was the last thing I remember.
