Everything Grandmother told me, could not stick in my mind. I could not register anything. When I woke up the next morning I forgot everything that had happened. I forgot my mother's death. I forgot everything Grandmother had told me. I could not even remember where I was. I walked down the stairs in my leopard print pajamas to find my Grandmother, and Grandfather talking to some random people. I stopped and looked at a family. "Great, you are up. I want you to meet The Bransons. They are going to let you stay with them while your grandpa and I go on a month long cruise." My Grandmother said as she pulled me to meet them.
"This is Marie Branson." She said pointing to a thin forty year old woman. She was gorgeous for her age. She wore blue jeans, and a sparkly black shirt. Her hair was the same color as my Grandmothers. "This is her husband Alex, and their son Kiel." She said pointing to the two guys behind her. Alex had a head of black and gray hair. He wore a nice button down shirt and dark jeans. Kiel wore a pair of light, slightly ripped jeans, and a tight dark purple shirt. He was tall and built well. He had dirty blond hair that was spiked up into a Mohawk. He looked my age. He was actually sort of adorable, if you could get passed his clothes.
"Do they wear ripped jeans here as a fashion statement?" I whispered in my Grandmother's ear.
She laughed then nodded. "They are your God parents. You mother chose them to take care of you."
I nodded, and smiled. Great, I was going to stay with them. I don't even know them. At least I was staying with my family and not some supposed god parents. I do not believe I should trust them. I turned around and walked up to my room. I sat on my bed and waited. Grandmother walked in angry. "What in the world was that about? They are here to take you with them so when we are gone on vacation you can be safe."
"Oh, really? I don't know anyone. I didn't even know you. I am a little skittish about staying with people I have never heard of. That is why I snooped around your house last night. I wanted to make sure I could trust you. Right now, I don't know who I can trust."
"Honey, you can trust us."
"I cannot trust anyone. If there is one thing I learned from my Father, I cannot trust even my best friend." I said crossing my arms.
She sat down beside me. "Now look, your grandfather and I are going on this vacation whether you stay with them or not. I suggest you stay with them so you won't be alone in this house. You just need to relax and start realizing that this is a different continent."
I stood up. "Okay, look I will stay with them, but I don't like how you are treating me right now. You are being suspicious, and don't think I will let it slip. I want you to know, my father has trained me well." I said grabbing my unpacked luggage and dragging it down stairs.
We left my grandparents behind. I looked out the window the whole time and said nothing to the family. We pulled into a large driveway. We pulled up to a huge house that looked like a mansion. Of course my house was larger, but I was surprised that they had a house this large. We got out and servants came and grabbed my luggage. "Bridget, this is Mandy she is your maid. She will show you to your room. If you would please change into something more appropriate we will eat breakfast, and discuss our plans for the day."
