The Princess War

Chapter 9

I stood in front of the camera. I fixed my wild red, curly hair. I was about to talk on national television. I was about to tell my country that our war was over. I looked to Justin for support. He gave me a big thumbs up. I looked to my mother for comfort. She gave me a soft smile. I looked to my father for laughter. He just stared at my side.

I looked down. My shirt was covered with blood. It was so soaked that it was dripping blood all down my leg. I had forgotten about my wound. I felt no pain. I felt nothing. I touched my wound, and all of a sudden the pain traveled all throughout my body. I almost fainted at the feeling, but I kept my balance. I stood tall and strong.

The news lady walked over and smiled. "We are on in 5...4...3...2...1" She said. "Hello Jake, yes I am here with the one and only, Princess Bridget. Princess, what led you to find the leaders of the other side?"

I looked into the camera. "I knew they wanted me, so I did the only thing that I could. I allowed myself to get caught. I allied with some of their close minions. I had a plan to figure out who was in charge." I said bravely.

"Who were these culprits and why did they do it?" She asked shoving the microphone in my face.

"They were actually my grandparents. My Grandmother was jealous that my mother got her happily ever after with my father. She fell in love with a prince once, but never got to marry him. My mother married her prince. She wanted revenge on my mother, because of personal reasons. My grandmother plotted to become the queen and leave my family to rot away. She wanted this kingdom for herself so she could shove it in the King of Ireland's face."

"Where does your grandfather come in?"

"He hated my mother because she was the daughter of an actual King. He wanted my grandmother to love him like she loved the King. When I went to American I witnessed my mother's planned 'fake' death. I told my jealous grandmother and she realized that she actually loved my mother. She wanted to end the war, but my grandfather wouldn't let her. He manipulized her. He wanted my family dead so he could become a king. He thought that would make her love him more."

"So there you have it. This is Andrea Lyles reporting from-"

"Wait," I said interrupting. "I would like to let our country know something."

She looked at me and pushed the microphone back to my face. "Go ahead."

"Those of you who fought against the King, I want you to know that I realized why you did so. You fought for your rights. You wanted change. That is why you fought against us. You thought if you got new rulers your lives would be better. I know that you all are upset that your side did not win. I know that you think life is going to be the same, but it is not. I have realized that it IS time for a change in our country. It is time that you, the people, have a say in your rights. I want you to know that your lives are not going to be the same. I promise you, that I will help that change. I will make sure you are given equal rights. I know I am not in line to be the queen, but I will make sure that you are given what you need."
