BEATNIK: A Poetry Collection

phobia

the superstitious

carry a fear of

the dark.

sometimes they

can't say why

they are afraid

of it.

there are even times

when those logical

enough to give up

on superstition fear

it as well.

this proves that

there is something

in the dark that

makes all people

uneasy.

though this may

be a fact of nature,

I do not shutter

in fear.

in the dark,

I am at peace,

for I do not

fear what exists

within it.

the simplest way

to not be afraid

of the dark is to

adapt and becomes

the scariest thing

you could meet while

inside of it.
