I work in a
clothing store
where women,
too afraid to
seem middle-class,
demand large
backs for small,
single items.
they do this
because they've
learned the
grand secret.
that being
that appealing
outward
appearances
can mask the
sins of the heart,
but only for
those cold enough
to know how
to disguise it.
