the blind optimism
of the middle-aged
knows no bounds.
the news is going
on about a park
strewn with signs
telling people to relax.
as if they need
to be told.
the news hosts
said they LOVE
the signs.
I doubt it.
the statement
was so empty.
the day we need
signs everywhere
to remind us how
to breathe and
enjoy the day is the
day we should go
extinct.
