Eddy had been pacing for what felt like hours when it really had only been a few minutes. After the encounter and warning with Niall, Ian had moved him to the barn where he was now. However, much to his surprise, he wasn't tied up or restrained in some way. Ian instead stood by the doors watching him, remaining silent while Eddy was a ticking time bomb of nerves. Part of his brain was saying to make an escape, somehow overpower Ian and run. The other half was afraid to leave Mia alone, afraid of leaving her in the hands of their kidnappers, especially with the condition she was in.
So here he was now, pacing a hole into the ground while watching Ian from the corner of his eyes. Ian made no move towards him since bringing him in, only watching him back making sure he didn't try anything. The doors behind Ian pulled open, casting the sunlight over Eddy who stopped in his pacing to bring his hand over his eyes to see who was entering. When the glare cleared up from his eyes, Eddy squinted his eyes to see that it was Niall. His sharp blue eyes were focused on Ian, as it appeared the two were talking before Ian took his leave.
Once he had left, Niall moved his attention to Eddy who looked like a feral cat. His eyes were large, his breathing almost coming out panicked even though he kept his feet planted. Seeing the almost feral look to him caused Niall to snort in amusement. He was sure if he pretended to try something against Eddy the guy would enter a fight or flight moment. Which is exactly what he was wanting.
"Show me how well you know how to fight." His voice filled the barn, Eddy flinched slightly at his voice, before regaining himself and returning his attention to Niall. He furrowed his eyebrows at Niall's comment, watching at the kidnapper slowly started to take small steps.
"I'll only repeat myself once, show me how well you know how to fight back," Niall said again after he got no response, slowly saying it this time as he watched the hostage in front of him. His stance was stiff, body ready to lunge away as Eddy watched him. Giving it a few more moments and seeing Eddy wasn't going to start, he made his first move.
He moved quickly, taking a swing at Eddy who stumbled away, body connecting with the wood wall behind him for a split second before he was pushing away and moving further away from Niall.
"What the-" Eddy didn't get to finish as he had to duck from another fist Niall was throwing at him. Chest heaving, he quickly moved to the other side of the barn.
What was Niall wanting him to do?! He didn't know how much longer he could avoid this whole fight without actually getting hit.
That was when it hit him as he locked eyes with Niall. Niall said to show him how well he fights. He needed to actually stop running and fight back, maybe then Niall would stop. He waited until Niall got closer, not making a movie. Once Niall was close enough, he swung his fist hitting Niall on the side of his face. This sent Niall tumbling slightly back both from the surprise attack and the force of which Eddy had sent it.
Eddy himself had frozen along with the fact he had done that. He watched Niall bring a hand up to the side he hit, pressing the tender skin before directing his eyes to Eddy whose hand was currently feeling the pain of the hit he just delivered. Eddy let out a wince as he stretched his hand in and out, feeling like he had just gotten his hand slammed in a door.
"Good hit, but not good enough."
Eddy glanced up to Niall in question when a hand connected with the side of his face before his feet were being taken out from under him. Back met ground in a harsh greeting, pain flashing across his spine as his lungs seemed to suddenly forget how to breathe resulting in Eddy gasping for a breath through the pain. Squinting through his eyes, he watched as Niall squatted down, a faint bruise starting to form where Eddy had hit him.
