Back at the bank
The bank was now surrounded by police cars. Lights flashing all in different ways, indicating many cops were on the scene. Each one performed their job to the best of their capabilities; whether it was talking to witnesses or looking at the damage that had been done inside. One cop, a young female, was standing with a colleague, trying to figure something out when she noticed another car pull up. Staring with full attention, her eyebrows rose, because only one person she knew drove that vehicle.
She broke away from the other officer and made her way towards them when they stepped out of their car, already seeming to be observing the crime scene.
"Detective Morgan?" She asked, watching when he came around his car, sharp eyes looking towards her when she called out to him.
Detective Morgan Adams was well known through the department. He had taken many cases that involved gangs and harsh criminals. His talent was unprecedented in his field. Morgan was able to get each case solved within days of them happening. His posture was straight, making him stand at a tall height, sharp hazel eyes studied each scene individually. His badge was clipped to the waist of his pants and his uniform seemed much more casual then than the other times she had seen him. When he came closer, she continued to speak, hoping he would give an indication as to why he was there.
"Hello officer. I need you to tell me everything. What's been collected into evidence so far? I've been assigned this investigation from headquarters directly, so anything you can tell me would be a big help." He held eye contact, raising his eyebrow towards her.
That did and didn't surprise the female officer as she only nodded, having him follow her. She led him towards the building, gesturing with her hand. "As you know, these particular criminals have been at large for months. This happened to be another hold up, but it turned out far worse than the others." The woman explained, ducking under the police tarp with the detective. They walked fully into the bank, where he was greeted by a few officers investigating the area; which was left in a large mess. Nodding at a black bag that another officer was taking a picture of, she went on with what they knew.
"Witnesses said three men were involved, just like with previous robberies. One went behind with the clerks and watched them fill the bag. He somehow knew what stack of money had the ink explosives and had them toss it." Directing with her hand she stopped in the center, while Adams slowly walked around, seeing the old split coffee that rested in the carpet. "From there, things got worse. A clerk who went to the restroom managed to hit the panic alarm and due to that action, ended up shot. He's on his way to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. Unfortunately, the perps grabbed one of the customers. A girl." Adams stopped, looking over. She handed him an evidence bag, an ID with a picture of a young girl caught his eye.
"The witnesses said, as soon as the alarm sounded, they were already leading Mia Porter to the entrance. She was with or it's indicated she wasn't alone. The guy who she came in with attacked one of the robbers. From there, things got messy and the last thing we see is from the first cop's dash cam. It's of the robbers getting both hostages in a car and driving off. Clearly, this robbery didn't go as planned. They only left with half of the money they stole." She finished, taking the evidence bag back.
Adams gave one last look before returning his attention to her, starting to backtrack towards the entrance. Once they reached outside, he started giving orders.
"Call whoever you can to see if we can identify the guy Mia was with. As soon as that's done, send the information to every news broadcast with their pictures and make/model of the vehicle." He reached a police car where the trunk was opened and started grabbing supplies.
